Dark copper, thin stable head. Swett caramel aroma with light cheesy notes. Sweet with prominent acidity. Flavour: sweet apple in the caramel, light burned sugar, wet rotten leaves. Straightforward, strong and drinkable.

BOTTLE 33 CL from omhper. Hazy red-brown, beige head with good retention. Full rich fruity caramel aroma with quite a bit of cheese, socks? Generic humor strong caramel, warming alcohol, some boozy spice. A bit flat, bit still a drinkable strong ale. Ok.

250th Beer Rating! I've forgot to keep track of them but I gotta celebrate with a special beer.

1 finger beige head. Almost black but really a super deep ruby red.

Aroma is burnt malts, raisins and other dried dark fruits and smokey wood.

Taste is chewy caramel, bread, dates, oak barrel, raisins and a hint of alcohol in a beautiful blend.

Mouthfeel is really smooth with a good initial kick. Medium bitterness. Medium carbonation, for the style. Thick and chewy.

Overall: This particular bottle is from 2016 and even in this short time it's matured beautifully. Really smooth and fully packed with flavours and dark notes. Excellent sweetness. Can't wait to try the "French Oak" version.

matbli (476) - Poznan, POLAND - JUN 24, 2017
Bottle vintage 2015 (9%), pours reddish-brown with high beige head.Aroma of caramel, raisins, dark fruits, dried plums. In taste mainly high sweetness with some very light cigarette ash in the finish. Medium bodied. Taste could be a bit more intensive but on the other hand it’s very good drinkable. Alcohol is slightly warming but not disturbing. All in all a quite expensive but still a good barley wine.
