Bottle at ÖÖWF 2012, vintage 2011. Aroma cognac, sweet, malt, toffee and dates. Taste very sweet, boozy, dates. Not as good as I remember it. finol (3359) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 29, 2012
Pours brown, solid looking with a tan head.
Fruity taste of grapes and plums. Hint of licorice. Well balanced. hirigalzkar (3127) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 26, 2012
Bottle. Pours orange with a off white head. Smells and tastes like a bitter fruit cake with hops. Warming. Yeasty. Spicy. mansquito (6319) - Nueva York, New York, USA - OCT 19, 2012
New Beer Distributors, NY 330ml ($3): 2009 bottle. Pours a brownish murk with a small head. Aroma is boozy, sugary, malty, and cakish. Taste is slightly boozy. Rather sweet. Mouthfeel is much lighter than expected. This ain’t that good of a barley wine. The extra years didn’t seem to mellow out the booze taste, but whatever, it was actually pretty easy to drink and that ain’t ever a bad thing. fletchfighters (1519) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 2, 2012
Thanks to Baggio for the bottle
Dark orange brown color, half finger of off white head that went to nada very quickly. Obvious ABV legs.
nose is of dried salted pork, quite odd but nice. Underneith the pork nose was dried cherries, strawberries, apricots and a lot of near burnt caramel. Big nose.
Big and rich taste and feel. Still a bit of pork taste but big caramel backbone followed by stone fruits . Big bodied, obvious alcohol, and low carbonation.

Bottle 2009 vintage (11.5%) shared with Linh at spuyten duvil. Pours a hazy amber body with no head, light white lacing. Aroma is agave syrup, apples, subtle maple and lots of alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium and almost chewy with notes of sugary fruit syrup, light alcohol, earthy barley and a light bitter, semi harsh finish. Frallan (38) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - SEP 22, 2012
Nice toffee aroma with a thin lace. Nice taste with some taste of marzipan. Color is hazy bronze/amber. AndySnow (7545) - Huddinge, SWEDEN - SEP 22, 2012

Pours muddy brown with low off white head
Almost vinuous port wine like aromas. Raisins, mud, dark berries
Sweet and almost fermented. A lot of raisins some cherries. Low bitterness a bit abrupt endind but all in all highly enjoyable nick76 (4399) - Tampa, Florida, USA - AUG 16, 2012
The aroma is very sweet and alcoholic with dark fruit and caramel. The appearance is cloudy amber with a small head. The taste is like the aroma and packs quite a punch both in alcohol and bitterness. The palate is average. Overall not one of my favorite barley wines but not bad.
