courtesy of, and shared with Gnoff. ’06 bottle. pours copper/brown. Aroma; lactose, malty, grainy with dark fruits; raisins that seemed to give a stronger aroma with the age. Taste, chocolate malts, with a chocolate milk palate, overal profile keeps a good dose of abvand aspect is rather boozy.

JorisPPattyn (9907) - Ursel, BELGIUM - MAY 27, 2010
Light gushing to medium, dense yellow-cream head, not very stable over ruby-brown beer; clear burt for the very last of the bottle. Rich malty nose, with alcohol and something lactic, sweet spices and mild hops. Rich taste, alcoholic and cakey, with hops blending seamlessly in. If anything, more meaty than lactic in the mouth. Very good balance. Quite rich velvety MF, and feels more carbonated than it looks. Long warming aftertaste with alcohol-preserved orangequarts. Dangerously drinkable little bottle, dangerously likeable little nobleman, both very expensive...

Skinnyviking (9465) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 14, 2010
Bottle. High creamy and long lasting off-white head. Hazy dark red body. Cream berries cocoa raisin aroma. Creamy caramel alcohol hops raisin flavor with low carbonation and a long aftertaste. Alcohol too dominant.

tderoeck (9313) - Gent, BELGIUM - MAY 14, 2010
Pours a clear amber to reddish. Almost no head. Smells like port, karamel, roasted malts and wood. Taste is immediately the roasted malts, which is quite surprisingly. Ends somewhat acidic with sweet hints. Aftertaste is complete hop bitterness and little acidic.

gyllenbock (8812) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAY 20, 2010
Bottle. Hazy brownish with a small slightly tan head. Malt, malt, malt! Yes it was very malty both in the aroma and taste. The aroma also contained syrup, dried dark berries, raisins and caramel. The taste was sweet but not sugary, sticky, thick mouth feel. Aftertaste was long and contained some alcohol. A good Swedish Barley Wine

Ibrew2or3 (8557) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JUL 3, 2011
Expensive as hell little bottle of beer pours hazy copper with full off white head. The aroma is dusty caramel malts, apricots, a bit of spicy hops and booziness into the end of the draw. The taste has malts, crystal malts, brown sugar, apricot sweet fruitiness, spicy hops and chemical booze into the finish. Seems to be a good deal going on here but it doesn’t really come together and doesn’t seem like age will do it much good either. Hope I’m wrong on the later point though.

Erzengel (8495) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - AUG 14, 2016
10.4% ABV, Batch Nr. 221B-1, MHD 15.09.18. Intense sticky malty nose. The beer starts very sticky with lots of sweet caramel, herbs, butterscotch. Intense creamy roasty. Moderate bitterness in the aftertaste, fresh and round. Roasted hazelnuts, caramelised almonds. Great round and intense thick. Full and rich, great!
