Hazy nut brown colour, beige foamy head. Sweet caramellish alcoholic flavour and aroma. Aroma also some old vegetables and toffee. Caramellish aftertaste. Gelt like it will get better later. Brew gone bad this year. 4 3 7 3 11
Now this was what it probably should be. Ambery reddish colour with small beige head. Aroma is vanilla, hops, sweet caramel malts and alcohol in an excellent balance. Flavour is sweet malts, alcohol, madeirawine some nectary and wooden notes also. Mild chocolateish notes in the finish. Really good. 8 4 8 4 16.

Hazy amberorange with a foamy tan head. Sweet aroma, mostly of chocolate and caramel with a candied edge and some note of toffee and cake in there as well. Nice, full and complex. Flavor has malt and chocolate along with caramel and a nice and warming alcohol tone. The mouthfeel is soft and smooth with a dry finish. Good one!
UPDATED: OCT 11, 2007 (Draught) Pours hazy amber/red. Very special aroma of strawberry yoghurt and dough. Raisins and plums with some vanilla. Caramell, dried fruits, apricot and alcohol in the flavour. Sweet medium body. (Draught, second try) Pours deep reddish brown. Incredible and fat aroma of sugary and buttery toffee. Also some caramel and vanilla ice cream. Flavour is the same, fat and sweet like liquid toffee. Some spicy hops and some apricot are also present. Full mouthfeel and body. sebletitje (10219) - Enghien, BELGIUM - JUN 27, 2009

Aroma; lactose, malty, grainy with dark fruits; raisins that seemed to give a stronger aroma with the age.
Taste, chocolate malts, with a chocolate milk palate, overal profile keeps a good dose of abvand aspect is rather boozy. olsvammel (7256) - Örebro, SWEDEN - SEP 20, 2009
It poured a hazy dark golden liquid with a light brown foam that left some lacing. It had a strong smell with some warm alcohol. It felt round, thick and smooth in my mouth. Had a warm alcoholic finnish. Tasted of caramell, malt and fruity. Very nice.

2009 bottle c/o Rich. Pours cloudy orange and brown with a medium creamy beige head. Aromas of mild citrus peel, a bit funky, with toasted/buttery oak, alcohol, and raisins. The flavor is sweet toffee and burnt caramel, light grass, and a crisp malt finish. Bitter citrus is also present, with slight alcohol as it warms. Low carbonation and creamy with a dry finish. Really nice. Thanks! jesperhammer (4826) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 25, 2012

Smelling of toffee, muffin batter, butter scotch, nuts and almonds. Some vanilla.
Starting with brown bread, brown sugar, syrup, dates, raisins, sherry, some bitter orange peel. Eggnog.
Medium carbonation, small bubbles, smooth, oily, sticky. A warm feeling (of alcohol), a big body.
A very sweet and warm barley wine. A real candy shot. Wonder how it will mature?
Bottle 330 ml. This was the 2010 vintage, 10% ABV.
