UPDATED: JUL 6, 2014 (Draught at Stockholm Beer Festival, 19 Sep 2008) Reddish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with notes of dried fruit (apricots, raisins) and rubbery hops. Rather vinous. Malty taste with dried fruit (apricots) and lots of spicy, earthy hops in the finish. Rather sweet and vinous. More than medium body. Clear medium to dark amber color with a average, frothy - creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, prune, dark dried berry, light alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft and smooth.
Bottle @ Nya Tröls, Malmö.gyllenbock (9177) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAY 20, 2010
Pours clear ruby red with a small, creamy, yellowish head. Arom ahas lots of malts, a light oxidation, caramel and fruity, light resiny hops. Low carbonation, fat oily mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, very malty, caramel, softly vinious, light raisins and light plums. Toasted and warming aftertaste. Nice and very well-balanced.
Hazy brownish with a small slightly tan head.
Malt, malt, malt! Yes it was very malty both in the aroma and taste. The aroma also contained syrup, dried dark berries, raisins and caramel. The taste was sweet but not sugary, sticky, thick mouth feel. Aftertaste was long and contained some alcohol. A good Swedish Barley Wine JorisPPattyn (10002) - Ursel, BELGIUM - MAY 27, 2010
Light gushing to medium, dense yellow-cream head, not very stable over ruby-brown beer; clear burt for the very last of the bottle. Rich malty nose, with alcohol and something lactic, sweet spices and mild hops. Rich taste, alcoholic and cakey, with hops blending seamlessly in. If anything, more meaty than lactic in the mouth. Very good balance. Quite rich velvety MF, and feels more carbonated than it looks. Long warming aftertaste with alcohol-preserved orangequarts. Dangerously drinkable little bottle, dangerously likeable little nobleman, both very expensive...

not much head. Amber colour. Great barley wine. Very smooth! bhensonb (15195) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 7, 2011
Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours beautiful copper with an off-white head. Aromas of warm sweet malt and spiritous fruit. Full bodied. Heat isn’t important until the gullet. Flavor is smooth, pleasant malt with a light astringency. Suggests wood barrel. Benzai (15608) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - OCT 3, 2011
Bottle at Cafe Buitenlust, Oirschot. Shared with Dutchdrebus. Dark red / browm color, small off-white head. Smell wood, not much more. Taste chocolate, roastyness and sweetness. Bit too sweet in my opinion, but still nice. Medium to high carbo, medium to full body. SirLimpsalot (4243) - SWEDEN - JUN 16, 2012
Stor kanske aning spritig doft med tydlig inslag av kola och frukt. Smaken är stor och tjock med en härlig känsla av tjära, lakrits och kola. Något kort eftersmak.
