Pale brown, slightly hazy. Small head. Fresh fragrance of grass and malt. Dry hoppiness, fruit, grape fruit and molasses. Balanced bitterness. An IPA made with precision, without compromises and without excesses. Very satisfactory. Travlr (24665) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - APR 13, 2011

A very bitter brew!
Golden color, a bitter scent and a bitter taste.
Hantverksbryggeriet has found the balance from the American hops and the malt.
Draught at Bishops Arms, Malmö, Friday September 12
Hazy copper color, fluffy tan head. Fresh bitter, herbal hoppy taste with sweet caramel malty notes as well. Fresh hoppy delicious scent. Smooth mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.
Wasn’t sure this did belong among my top beers, but now I am sure once more.
Tried again, though not with notes. (Bottled at SMÖF-08)

Pushing looks to 5, it was sure beautiful!
33 cl bottle at home on August 21, 2009
BB Dec 2009, from Systembolaget in Västerås.
Slight bit hazy copper color, big fluffy orange head. Fresh hoppy scent, herbal, carmelly malty. Hoppy, bitter, dry malty taste. Bitter aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, high bitterness.
I’m sorry to say though still nice, the quality of all the HVB beers seems to have dropped, so this is dropped from my top 10 :(

Golden color, big head. Aroma of yeast and the hop cupboard, it smells like a brewery at work. Toffee-styled Golden ale, spiced and robustly hopped, no thrills.

Beautiful hazy copper color; big creamy head. Nice hop aroma, delicate, earthy, with light fruits and resins. Mellow flavor, malty, sweet toffee, with good hopping, very well aromatic, a bit fruity and resiny. Long and strong final. Very well brewed and pleasant.
On tap at Bishops Arms, Stockholm. A beautiful pour gave a huge, creamy yellowish head on top of the red copper beer. Milk chocolate aroma as well as fruit. In fact, very bitter, but still ending with dry chocolate flavours. Fruity hops. A bit too thin body for all the rich flavours. A magnificent beer it is. Original, too. larsam (127) - Southampton, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 9, 2005
Rated @ Stockholm beer festival. Cloudy amber with nice creamy off-white head. Hoppy aroma and flavour with lots of grapefruit bitterness. olsvammel (7220) - Örebro, SWEDEN - SEP 20, 2009
It poured a hazy orange liquid with a light orange foam. Strong smell of grassy hops, pine, citrus and grape. High bitterness, grape, citrus, grassy hops. Fresh and lots of hops, I liked it. Veer (362) - Landskrona, SWEDEN - NOV 7, 2009
On tap at Maddes. Jeppe (2631) - Brooklyn, Alabama, USA - NOV 28, 2004
Aroma: juniper, grapefruit, slightly acrid. Less foresty than the flavour... pine.
Flavour: very bitter, juniper... astringent, aluminium... funky, acrid, metallic again. Roasted nice malts, somehow mild considering the bitterness. Very interesting, caramel & slight sweetness. Vanilla. Definitely complex for being so ’weak’.
Appearance: huge frothy head. Like a float. Yellowish dark amber body. Slightly turbid.
Palate: nearly flat, thick, smooth.
Sampled from draught at Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival 2004 (#22).
The brewer told me that they tried to make an American style IPA with this! I think they succeed quite well! Unclear amber/orange body with a thick foamy light tan head. Lots of hops in the nice and heavy aroma. Sweet middle with a good bitterness around it. Toffee tones. Flavor is hoppy, nutty and caramelly. Not that full but tasty. Sweet in the end. Another good one from Hantverksbryggeriet!
