Countbeer (6592) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - SEP 21, 2010
Nice big vast light brown foamy head.
Color of beer is black.
Smell roasted malts, coffee, hop, hint of dark fruit and bit sweet.
Taste is a nice balanced mix of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, hint of liquorice, hint of dark fruits, hint of hops and something like brown sugars.
Light bitter in the end with a light sweet more coffee aftertaste. Fin (10541) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 30, 2010
Bottle that I picked up from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgium June 2010, consumed at Shrewsbury Folk Festival 29.08.10 Pours dark, dark brown with a tan head. Really tasty beer, with loads of roastiness, dark chocolate and general bitterness, fair bit of coffee sluishing about as well. Bottle. Almost back and opague. Roast, coffee and licorice in the aroma. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, dreid fruit and licorice. Full bodied, well balanced and enjoyable beer. JorisPPattyn (10001) - Ursel, BELGIUM - MAY 27, 2010
Huge, extremely dense dark-greige head over near-black beer. Coffeeish nose, with a flair of cigarleaf and speculoos (if a bit overdone, that one), very roasted. Bitter chocolate, coffee, coffeecream, Café Noir cookies, and a bit of Haagse Hopjes - but these with REAL hops (pun intended, sorry). Very slick, smooth, and warming. Alcohol obvious; creamy texture thanks to the persistent head. Another good I.S. - but nothing more. meerbier (1474) - Pijnacker, NETHERLANDS - MAY 22, 2010

Overly sweet and after an overwhelming start it looses it’s power quickly. Lots of chocolate and licorice, nicely roasted. After a while the sweetness gets annoying however.
Pours a black beer, no head, just a dark beige small rim agains the glass. Smells very smoked, wood, oily and coffee. Taste is somewhat bittersweet caramel which ends in coffee. That’s pretty much the only thing that is left in the aftertaste. Burnt (not roasted) malts. If I want this, I can just drink some strong cold coffee.
