Bottle: Pours a deep brown almost black color with a finger tall tan head that doesn’t linger for very long. The aroma is roasty chocolate malts and molasses with a touch of alcohol. The taste is not what I was expecting. It’s a little salty with smokey roasted malts really dominating and really no sweetness. It’s actually lighter in body than you would think with a slick texture and sort of flat in the carbonation category and has a dry finish.
Overall I liked this beer but didn’t love it. This is rated as an imperial stout but really feels more like a regular stout. It just didn’t have the malt backbone I was looking for.
Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Almost black with dark beige head. Licorice, coffee, lots of roast, light red berries, cocoa beans. Light sweet, under medium bitter and again light sour. Over medium bodied. It’s a bit weird, not bad at all but not something I’d drink a lot of, a bit too much sour coffee. sjogro (3948) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAY 9, 2017

Black with a dark brown quickly dissipating head(likely due to age). Aroma of licorce and roasted chocolate malts. Taste is caramel, and roasted malts. Alcohol taste is somewhat noticeable. I think it is getting old. Iznogud (3710) - CROATIA - AUG 22, 2016
