I'm not a great fan of the "Duvel-type" beers, but this one was ok. Spicy, hoppy. Extra points for appearance. edden (925) - cow- lumbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 1, 2003

large quickly dissipating head with left over lacing. bright yellow body. lovely nose. apple, sugar grapes and a hint of barrel to taste.
Straw yellow body with a medium wjite head that quickly dissipates. No lacing.Mads Langtved (2243) - Copenhagen K, DENMARK - AUG 27, 2003
Yeast. Delicate, spicy hop aroma. Some malt.
Very spicy. White wine/vinous. Alcohol becomes apparent as the cheeks warm...
Another surprisingly medium bodied belgian strong. Very crisp and interesting finish with the noble hops.
A classic Belgian Strong Ale. Quite spicey and pretty alcoholic. Fruity and dry. beerking99 (199) - Virginia, USA - AUG 22, 2003
CLear, pale gold, with a big head. Aroma is spicy/yeasty, with some subtle hop hints. Flavor starts off sweet, candy-like, but moves towards some hops and yeast. Tail is alcoholic and yeasty. Palate is somewhat thin but good.

I got mine at the Oriental Wok with lunch. Poured just like the picture, gold color large head. Yeasty, floral aroma, with slight smell of saaz. Fruity sweet flavor, dry finish, excellent beer. Andrew196 (1902) - Katy, Texas, USA - AUG 9, 2003
I agree with Chad for the most part on this beer. It holds the 8.5% very well, has a very pleasant taste to it. Not very complex, but very well balanced and easy to drink. AceOfHearts (1374) - Mountain View, California, USA - AUG 9, 2003
Bottle. Very light colored for the 8.5% ABV; generous head. Sweet, mildly malty taste that disguises a very nice and strong alcohol finish, with some hints of honey and more sweetness. Dry in the end. Nice. Spiesy (2338) - Sydney, Greater London, AUSTRALIA - JUL 19, 2003
Bottled. Served just as it looks in the picture, at the Dovetail. Bright golden colour with a large bright white head. Dry with a slightly sweet flavour, sour dough in proportion. Dusty palate that leaves it slightly simple for such a looker. lunaticharness (183) - Torrance, California, USA - JUL 16, 2003
was very surprised by this one.... had a nice... well just look at the picture, but the head... the head was huge and marshmallowie looking, the flavor was nice and carbonated with spice and good bitterness to it, it was malty as well.. the alcohol was hidden rather well, nice crisp drink
