HAPKIN has a very good fresh, flowery, Saaz hop aroma, a very big creamy head, a soft malt character, and a spritzy, perfumy fruitness drying toward the finish.

Note: Initially from Brouwerij Louwaege, from 2001 to 2007 brewed in Jumet, afterwards in Alken.

Golden clear body, medium white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, grain, honey notes, floral hops, alcohol fusel, dissolvant. Flavour of grain, Belgian yeast, strong dissolvant flavour. Medium sweet disolvant finish.

Aroma faint but nice: fruity with an alcoholic warmth. Taste the same, not too overwhelming but full ( bottle approx. 1 year after bottling date ) with a very nice, lingering aftertaste remeniscent of whiskey. Its a fine beer but lacking a bit of real character, certainly considering its high alcoholic content.

Bottle @ Rootz Harbour, Scheveningen. Cloudy, light golden colour, big white foamy head. Floral Belgian yeast, grassy and citrusy hops, grainy and dry malty base: reminiscent of Duvel. Well balanced. Good body, lively carbonation.

Slight haze gold high carbonation. Fruity yeast aroma. Fruity and dry hops. Grapes, peach, light tartness and floral hoppy fruitiness. Great Belgian style blonde. Really like the light body big character of it. Not a weak beer at 8.5% Thanks for sharing Kapusil!

0.33l bottle. Slightly hazy pale yellow body, quickly disappearing white head. Aroma of bread, tangerine, peach, coriander and floral hops. Taste of bread, tangerine, coriander, cloves and floral hops. Sweet upfront, but the finish is a bit dry. Very nice beer.

Light murky golden with large frothy head. A: malts, metal notes, strange wood note, lightest note of dried herbs. T: strong malt character, medium marzipan note. Medium bitter development with light peppery mouthfeel. Relatively dry finish with strong banana yeast taste. Run of the mill Belgian Blond, but you got to admire the technical quality of this brew.

Nice balance between sweet (fruity) and bitter tastes. It has a good mouthfeel with quite some carbonation. Overall not very special, but enjoyable.

bartlebier (3633) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - APR 11, 2016
33cl bb09/2016 from Bierhandlung. Beigegolden pour with a honeydrizzle texture, big soapy head although less towering mountains of foam like its obvious example. Sweetish aroma of apple pie with artifical apricots (Haribo apricot) and some pregnant Belgian yeastiness of industrial scale, creating a warning whiff of alcohol. - Pilsner malts cake, sweet dough, baked apples and then a fair bite of a herbal Saaz cushioned by sweetness and pear drops, baked banana and white pepper and clove phenolic spice: somewhere there is an industrial Hefeweizen buried here. A rounder, less elegantly dry "hommage" to Duvel at exactly the same abv.

Zlotta (2518) - Hagen, GERMANY - MAR 11, 2016
0.33 l bottle from Bosch Wijnhandel (Amsterdam), best before September 2016. Clear, golden yellow with a huge, foamy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, fruity-spicy aroma of banana, clove, sugar, green apples and citrus. Sweet, yeasty-spicy taste of banana, clove, toffee, sugar, some citrus and green apples, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, yeasty-spicy finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy and effervescent mouthfeel, very lively carbonation. Quite sweet, but still good in balance. Typical Belgian yeasty-spicy stuff. Nice!
