Tap. This should be listed as a Black IPA, correction sent 1/8/17. Pours a clear dark amber body with a frothy one finger beige head, rather light for a Black IPA. The nose is citrusy hops with some chocolate malt and caramel. Definitely not just a hoppy porter, the nose is mostly IPA. The flavor is moderately bitter, citrusy, minimal chocolate and coffee, more caramel sweetness than anything. Some light coffee on the finish. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty decent, but I could go for a bit more chocolate malt. j12601 (13027) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUL 31, 2015
On tap at the brewery. Pours a deep hazed brown with a thin tan head. Huge sticky tropical fruit and citrus on the nose. Medium bodied, roast and citrus. Long earthy hops, grapefruit juice and gentle roast. FROTHINGSLOSH (8069) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 14, 2014
UPDATED: JAN 15, 2015 Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a dark brown color with orange highlights and an enormous foamy tan head that lingered forever and left good lacing. The aroma was dry, gritty, leafy fruity hops. The flavor was dry, bitter, roasty and malty with gritty and leafy fruity hops. Very long hoppy finish. Medium body. Ok. On tap at the brewery. Big hop aroma, fresh and floral. Light caramel and chocolate notes. Nice nose. Dark brown-black, like root beer, with creamy off-white lacing head. Medium body and medium carbonation. Starts with tons of hop flavor, rich chocolate and caramel sweetness. Big hoppy finish with grainy notes, light chocolate-coffee hints. Tasty black IPA.
