Clear copper body with a slight beige wispy head. The nose is pretty malty, with some caramel, but also a bit of crystal malt iced tea notes that I don’t like. Moderate citrusy hops. The flavor is very sweet on the whole, lots of caramel and toffee, less apparent crystal malt, citrusy and fruity hoppiness on the finish. Medium bodied, a bit sticky, soft carbonation. Kinda on the fence with this one, I mostly like it I guess, not boozy at all, which is great. I think I like it more, the more I have.

On tap at Happy Valley Brewing. Pours clear brown with white lacing. Sweet malty aroma. Quite sweet. More sweet than it should.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a relatively clear amber brown with a thin white head. Huge sticky plums and fruit, oxidation, syrupy malt. On the thicker side of medium bodied, heavy malt, oxidized, sticky. Touches of chocolate abs warning alcohol. Lingering bitterness and more oxidized malt.

UPDATED: MAY 4, 2014 Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a dark brown color with orange highlights and a large creamy off white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was toasty malts, molasses, dark fruits, wood and cherry. The flavor was tangy and bitter with notes of caramel, molasses, wood, cherry and tobacco. Very long finish. Full bodied. Alcohol well contained. Well done.

On tap at the brewery. Mild sugary aroma with eatery notes. Cherry wood, alcohol, caramel. Rough. Deep dark mahogany clear with creamy lacing head. Medium-heavy chewy body with medium carbonation and alcohol warming. Starts sweet with caramel, brown sugar but quickly dries out to nutty astringency and hoppy bitter finish. Still hot with fusel and solvent. Dry bitter after. Has an alcoholic eau de vie or Calvados after.
