COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Initially, the blonde color greets the eye. Soon, the massive citrus and pine hop aromas announce that this beer is special. The round, warming mouth-feel and a finely tuned blast of intense hop bitterness on the finish leave the palate begging for more. (8.2% ABV)

Clear dark gold body with a small wispy white head. The nose is big citrusy, juicy, and resiny hops with a moderate, but not overly sweet smelling caramel maltiness. The flavor is pretty balanced, lots of hops and malt. I like the hop mix in here, theres plenty of the usual citrus, but also a nice tropical fruitiness as well. Clean caramel malt base that lets the hops shine bright. Medium to full bodied with an almost chewy texture and soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty nice DIPA, much better than the average brewpub offering.

On tap at Happy Valley Brewing. Pours Amber. Strong tropical hop aroma. Bitter but a bit too sweet from the effect to get the ABV up.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a mostly clear gold with a medium sized white head. Big pineapple and tropical fruit on the nose, citrus and a bit of mango. Medium bodied, sweet malt and earthy grapefruit show up early, a bit of warming alcohol. Finishes up with lingering grapefruit pith and a touch of booze. Tasty.

[6638-20140816] Tap. Lemony citrus resin hops aroma. Clear, orange body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head and thick lacing. Bitter resin pine hops flavour has a long needle aftertaste. Medium body is quite bitter. Tasty. (8/4/8/4/16) 4.0

So this is a lovely beast of an IPA. I didnt expect something this bold from a place that is known more for their dining and trendy atmosphere than their beer! Awesome stuff.

Sampled on draft this beer poured an amber-caramel color with a medium sized foamy off white head that faded and left no lacing. The aroma was bitter and oniony. The flavor was onion, musty, sweetish and grassy with a citric undertone. Medium length finish. Medium body. Disappointing.

On tap at the brewery. Floral fragrant hop aroma with light alcohol and caramel. Dank and dirty hops. Brilliant orange-amber clear with white lacing head. Medium-heavy body with medium carbonation. Wonderful taste, sweet and alcoholic with huge juicy hop profile. Delicious and warming with smooth bitter-sugary after. Great IIPA.
