3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I got this in a trade, and amber ales are wierd. Some are great, and some are just way too boring. This is a good one. Pours a medium and somewhat dull amber color. Very average looking. I'm feeling a little disappointed. The aroma cheered me up. Nice and malty, with a bit of sweetness and a good balanced hoppiness. Some apple and pear esteriness. Flavor is sweet and malty, with a nice fruitiness that permeates throughout the sip. Hops are mild and balance the maltiness very well. I was in the mood for a sweetish beer, and this one hit the spot. Not candy sweet, but a nice change of pace from ESBs and IPAs.
Not bad for a style that isn’t known for being aggressive of dynamic. Has a grassy aroma with some light sweetness. Fruity, slightly acidic, with a caramel bready base. noncaloric (684) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 19, 2009
Hazy light amber, abundant but loose beige head, decent lace. Aroma of pale malt with a bit of caramel. Bittersweet, malts have a bit of caramel, a bit of apple cider, no toffee or darker flavors. Some husky or crusty raw grain character, a bit oxidized on the finish. Bitter like orange peel. Carbonation plays a significant role in the flavor, though only a moderate one in the texture. Thin to medium body, somewhat spritzy. Bockyhorsey (2627) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - SEP 21, 2008
12oz bottle courtesy of mother in law. Lack luster aroma of malt. Amber body with white head. Flavor was sweet but bitter was more overpowering. Did belch after beer was finished and a caramel aftertaste was present. So the malt was there but didn’t show uo in aroma and flavor. Odd cbkschubert (2901) - BFE, Arizona, USA - AUG 7, 2008
12 oz. bottle courtesy of Bockyhorsey - Pours a hazy amber color with a 1/2 finger thick light tan head. very light spotty lacing. Has a very light hop and carmel malt aroma. Flavor is hops, light esters, and a touch of malt. Light to medium body. A decent beer. Thanks Bill. jbuzz (839) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 2, 2008
Big 20 beer tasting at Three Cellars Milwaukee.

Amber with thin white head. Aroma of light caramel, sweet malt and light fruit. Taste is more of the same wrapped up in a semi-thin body with a malty consistency. Finishes a little spicy. GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - MAY 15, 2008
12oz bottle. Poured a clear medium orange color. Head was bubbly and off white. A bit of lace was left behind. Smelled of subdued cherry with a whiff of malt (ala chocolate and molasses). Light bodied and slightly sweet on the tongue. There was also a dash of salt. I tasted white paper, Ritz crackers, leather, and some milk chocolate. Carbonation was on the higher end of the spectrum. They must have forgotten to add the "assertive hops" to the boil, as there wasn’t much in the way of hop aroma or flavor. Not a good beer. phishpond417 (2088) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - APR 28, 2008
This beer poured nicely in a typical amber colour with a modest sized white head. Aroma was of light biscuity malts and subtle hops. Flavor was decent, soft caramel but finishes a little weak nonetheless. DragonStout (1416) - Groveport, Ohio, USA - MAR 21, 2008
Pours a thin amber color with a small head.Lots of malt and sweet caramel on the nose. Flavor was malty and semi sweet with a metallic tinge to it.The finish was kind of uninteresting. Nothing special here. RSRIZZO (2021) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - SEP 27, 2007
Had this beer on 9/18/2006. Aroma is a dry malt scent. Color is a nice golden with good carbonation and good tight head. Taste is bright and malty. Starting with a light medium body it goes down crisp with a mild sweet malt flavor coming on. The finish builds on this malt favor then end with just a faint bitterness. They lean to much on the malt and leave it a bit bland.
