Cask at the Hanging Bat. Pours black, aroma and taste is deliciously fruity and chocolatey. stravale (3145) - Co. Westmeath, IRELAND - JAN 25, 2013
Cask @ Hanging Bat . Dark ruby red, thin white head, good colour, some lacing. Aroma of soft roast, hint of burnt crust, soft berry fruits, toasted white bread. Taste of fruity sweet malts, soft berries. some toasted white bread again, interesting flavour. Palate is slightly thin, but its quite oily and smooth, sweet fruits witha dab of bitter roast. Finish is a little dry with a slightly faint metallic bitter note in the linger. Overall - this was a very fruity and tasty porter jamestulloch (4328) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 25, 2013

Appearance: Very dark ruby body with a thick white head.
Taste: Extremely malty - one of the maltiest beers I’ve tried, in fact. Milk chocolate, smoke and fruity blackcurrants. Low bitterness.
Palate: Medium body with a slick, oily texture. Flat carbonation.
Overall: Smooth and luscious. Very malty and the addition of blackcurrants is rather nice.
[cask at the Hanging Bat, Edinburgh] Harbour’s brown malt porter with macerated blackcurrants – it looks a very deep red/purple colour, with a slightly off-white head. Big nose of chocolate, deep and roasty, with some curranty zest there. On the taste, there’s some fruity blackcurrant at first, before the porter takes over and the roasted chocolate flavours come out – very much so, on the finish. Very nice cgarvieuk (25987) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 22, 2013
