Slightly cloudy dark amber hue with a small off white foamy head that leaves a decent amount of lacing. Glorious aroma strong in hoppy floweryness and citrus. This follows through to the taste which is citrusy and floral with a long bitter aftertaste. A good example of how an IPA should be.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2015 Bottle from Sainsburys, really good hoppy aroma, good hoppy, cirusy taste. A great bottled hoppy ipa

Somewhere between an English IPA and an American IPA ... and a bitter. It’s got the crisp hops, with the citrus and pine taste, only not too much of them. What’s really interesting is the floral taste - quite a strong taste of rose turning to honey. Wasn’t expecting that and very pleasantly surprised.

Gravity at the Battersea Beer Festival 2013. Poured a clear, deep golden colour, with a halo of white head. Big aroma of citrus hops, with tropical fruits and toasted malt. Grapefruit hop flavours, with nice biscuity malt base and juicy mango. Finish was nicely balanced pine hop bitterness, bready malt and tinned fruit.

Bottle; clear, amber, thin white head; aroma of hops; flavour is fruity, tending toward the more exotic end of things - ripe pineapple, soft grapefruit, mango, orange; slightly sweet; juicy, well-balanced, high quality; reminiscent of St Austell Proper Job and of a similar high standard

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. An amber beer with sweet orange marmalade and tropical fruit flavours followed by bitterness with pine on the finish.

[5979-20131020] Cask. Mild lemon citrus aroma. Murky, pale orange brown body with a long-lasting foamy white head. Quite a bitter bite with a lemon pip and citrus flavour. Medium body is bitter. Great bitter beer, surprised it’s a British rendition. (7/4/8/4/16) 3.9

500ml dark glass bottle. Unfiltered. Sainsbury’s Beer Hunt 2013. Good malty - nice earthy rugged feel to it - unlike a lot of UK "craft" beers and most American beers. You can feel the yeast here, and that’s largely due to some very high quality bottle conditioning. I like this a lot. There’s fresh, citric American (and English?) hops - but not excessively so. As a style it appears to sit between an English premium bitter and an APA, though much closer to English in style - it has the rugged earthiness and character of a premium bitter, and some of the zest of an APA. It’s a lovely drink.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Amber pour with a light haze, white head. Grapefruit, mango and pineapple aroma. Tropical fruit and citrus flavour. Full on fruit action. Bitter-sweet finish. Refreshing and darned tasty too.
