11th March 2012
Opaque black beer with a tidy dark tan head. Crisp fresh palate, lots of minerals. Tangy dark malt with dark fruits and sourish whisky. Trace of candy fruits. Crispy finish with a tangy aftertaste and a touch of molasses.
Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. 2011 Edition drank after 6 years: Bottle 159 of 660. Inky black with no head. It has a sharp dried fruit and whisky flavour followed by warming tart cherry and more strong whisky on the oaked finish. Not bad after all this time. oliodnb (662) - ITALY - MAR 10, 2015
33cl bottle labeled as 273 of 660. Pours black with a thin uneven beige head. Aroma is sweet with some roastiness, light vanilla, some medicine note and a quite strong whisky aroma. Taste starts in an unpleasant way with a strong lemony acidic note, even stronger than the one I found in the Sigma edition, followed by some roastiness and whisky flavor. Dry finish, light bitterness, medium body, light carbonation. gunnfryd (14877) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - DEC 5, 2014

Bottle. A clear looking dark brown beer with a small dense dark beige head. Citrus, peat, some medicine, roasted malts, dried fruits and bonfire. Rather dry on the palate, with a soft carbonation. Roasted malts, dried fruits, salt and some licorice in the flavor, lasting finish. Lovely aroma in this one, complex and pleasant, but the flavor isn’t as interesting. Still nice though. 140919 Geokkjer (7627) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 19, 2014

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2014 Bottle 2011 vintage bought @ the Magpie. Sophisticated nose... fumes of whisky intense character showcased over a dark chocolate, fudge and boozy resemblance. Black inky beer with a subtle lace that coats the snifter : the complexity to this isn’t that deep but I like the texture. Strong rich whiskey emphasis. notes of chocolate.woodiness some fudge accents. Massive roast malt qualities.@ 7:5% ,an imperial stout "light" but I’ll give props its a pretty solid number. The whiskey barrel carries strongly. Fucken fine with me! Stuu666 (13425) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 3, 2014
