worldbeertaste (1806) - West Midlands, - OCT 17, 2012
Dark brown almost black with a thick creamy lasting large beige head. Smells of deep roasted malt, chocolate, wood, dry fruit (raisins, prunes) and spices like cinnamon. Rich medium oily body with soft to no carbonation. Nice soft sweetness or fruit, licorice, bitter chocolate roast wit h a roast dry smoky coffee finish.

AshtonMcCobb (6871) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 3, 2017
Bottle from Rheged. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - grapes but then the toffee kicks in and there’s a smoky charcoal note that follows it in. Taste - light apple or grape before getting into toffee again and again smoke, tar and charcoal notes. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - a dry stout but with fruitiness

ianwelby (1488) - SCOTLAND - DEC 29, 2016
Black beer, thick beige head. Aroma of light malt. Flavour is tangy fruit up front but this soon mellows out and you’re left with a fairly standard bitter, malty stout. A touch of bitter cocoa and some of the fruit lingers too, quite tangy. Not bad.

Grumbo (3845) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - SEP 21, 2016
Bottle at the East Town bottle shop and tap room, Ipswich. Pours almost black with a large and long lasting beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, slick texture, a bit too carbonated. Finish is dry, lasting roasted bitterness.

berkshirejohn (6618) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 2, 2016
33cl bottle from Beer52.com. A deep chocolate brown colour with a ring of tan head; rich chocolate malt aroma; dry spicy malt taste with a well balanced bitterness; and a spicy caramel finish.

Cuso (8934) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - MAR 9, 2016
Bottle from Beerlovers. Very dark brown color with medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee. Coffee, dark chocolate, wood in taste. Good.

MisoW (3661) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - MAR 9, 2016

rusos (782) - Stupava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - MAR 9, 2016
Bottle. Bolime tasting. Black colour, beige head. Aroma roasted, caramel, some yeast. Taste roasted, caramel, somewhat sour. Empty body. Overcarbonated.

Gurthnar (6173) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - MAR 9, 2016
Bottle at Bolime tasting 3/2016. Unfortunately this soured and nothing is left of the deScriptors in commercial deScription. Not entirely bad, but not great either - just another unintentional sour.

Mjp12 (1974) - York, North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 24, 2016
A perfectly decent session style stout, with good roast flavours, and a clean finish

jamestulloch (4276) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 10, 2015
Bottle. Brown body with a thin beige head. Light lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate, plum and dumpling. Flavour of peppercorns, chocolate limes, cherry, green pepper and Blackjacks. Thin body with a creamy texture. Soft fizz. A cracking beer - complex beyond its ABV. Hardknott are an incredibly underrated brewery.
