(Bottle) Dark amber beer with a filmy head and a slight scent of malt. Flavour of malt and berries but it’s slightly bland with a watery finish.

ManVsBeer (10927) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 13, 2015
Bottle from Morrisons, Wakefield. Copper-red, with more of the latter than former and no head. Has a thinnish tasting malty-sweetness. Its nose provides the ales best fruity character.

RichTheVillan (8110) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - DEC 19, 2014
Cask at JDW Charlie Hall; light clear copper pour with a creamy off white head, red fruit and malt aroma, taste has nut, some roast malt, toffee and a hint of spice.

JDW, Eastleigh. Malty beer. Delicious. Pear drops. Tobacco hops in the finish, lingering. A tasty and satisfying beer.

jamesie1857 (1975) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - OCT 5, 2014
500ml bottle from B&M Bargains - Deep reddish brown body, thin foamy off-white head. Nose is a bit bland, some caramel there, nuts, bread, ripe fruits, but not in great massive bouquets. Taste is a little more robust, but is let down by a thin as water mouthfeel, so the ripe cake fruits, nuts and dough and all that are really washed away. Nice enough, but felt more like a cheap version of Hobgoblin.

leaparsons (10696) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - SEP 21, 2014
Bottle. Russet brown with a thin head. Aromas are raisins and vinous berries with dark toffee. Spicy black tea with medicinal notes. Flavours are sweet raisins and toffee with medicinal notes. Black tea with pepper. Not bad.

UPDATED: SEP 11, 2014 Bottled 12/07/14. A dark brown coloured beer with off-white wisps of head. Fruity and malty. Flavours of raisin. Sweet. Tastes fairly Christmassy. Pasteurized boiled sweet noted let it down. It’s passable. Score 3.0

Bottle from B&M. Deep chustnut colour with a cream froth. Fruity and quite sweet, with toasted malt notes as well. A slightly bitter finish. Went down easy and I enjoyed this one.

500ml bottle from B&M. Not really sure about this. Is it just a Greene King gimmick.

3.2
SarkyNorthener (4765) - West Bromwich (Yorkshire Expat), West Midlands, ENGLAND - APR 16, 2014
Bottle from B&M. Dark chestnut beer with small head. Aroma of malts and caramel. Taste is fruity malts and toffee. Ok beer.
