Not a particularly inventive version of the style, but this is a summertime style that I’ve come to love, so a classic played right down the middle is exactly what I like. This beer is hazy, pale yellow with a thin rim of foam. Lemon and salt are all over the aroma, with a little sweet, banana-like character in the background. The flavor is really tart front to back, and the finish is bright and clean. Goes down really easy.

Tap at Charlottesville location. Pale gold with a white head. Aroma is very faint tart fruit, grasses, wheat. Flavor is tart/tangy lemon, wheat, slight breadiness. Good.

Pouring at the 2016 Micro Brew Invitational in Boston. Pours a hazed gold with a medium sized white head. Grain, soft malt and wheat. Medium bodied, tart, light lemon. Lacto. Soft sour grain, slow lemon. Crisp and easy.

Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - JUN 6, 2016
Hazy yellow, slight head fades - on tap at Mekong. Aroma is wheat, light lemon citrus. Flavor matches, wheat, touch of lemon, lightly acidic. Really very nicely done. Good example of the style, enjoyed it. Perhaps almost too light for my pho.

JBPortland (1543) - Hampton Roads, Virginia, USA - NOV 25, 2015
On tap at the brewery, pours clear pale straw yellow with thin finger of head. Served in a little plastic cup in the tasting room, interesting choice of serving vessel at your own brewery...nose is soft, not much there, some light doughy lemon and hints of field grain. Taste is lighy bodied, low acidity, subtle minerality, pleasant lemon and cereal and a light lacto cheeseyness. Finishes with low tartness, floral lemon zest, some cereal grain lingers briefly. Decent enough berliner.

Draft at the brewery. Grainy, light lemon, lightly soured, really light bodied. Palate is a little bit square, but good.

Tap at brewery. Hazy ugly yellow with thin white head. Smells wheaty with a hint of citrus and perfume. Nice tart flavor.

Travlr (24841) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUL 23, 2015
Draft at Scion. Hazy to cloudy pale yellow color, thick and creamy white head. Aroma of earthy citrus. Taste is softly sour lemon, slightly bready, light citrus bubblegum. Very tasty.

markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - JUL 22, 2015
On draft at Cigar City for Hardywood event there. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Nose is some tart citrus, some lemon, some wheat, and some nice lacto notes. Flavor is similar with lemon, citrus, wheat, and lacto. Light in body and a lovely base Berliner.
