While it may be difficult to fully appreciate outside of its homeland, the breadth and diversity of the Czech brewing tradition extends far beyond a certain Ur-lager. Hardywood Bohemian Pils gives a nod to the wonderfully fresh and complex unfiltered pale lagers being produced in the brewpubs of Prague. Brewed with an heirloom variety of floor-malted barley from the Czech Republic, Hardywood Bohemian Pils features a rich, bready maltiness balanced by smooth bitterness and spiciness from the exclusive use of Czech Saaz hops. A traditional Czech lager yeast strain ties the whole package together, creating a refreshingly clean yet characterful flavor profile with a crisp finish. Na zdrav!

Tap @ brewery. Yellow with thin light head. Smells like about dough bread and citrus. Not much on the sweet end but a nice light bitterness. Feels a tad watery on the front, and had a tad of the sweetness coming in too hang on at the back end.

On tap at Hardywood. Pours a clear bright golden yellow color with sudsy white head that fades to a wisp and light lacing. Aroma is fruity lager yeast sweetness, light malt complexity and a kiss of hop bitterness. Flavor is characteristic pilsner, delicious and quenching. Im not normally a fan of the style, but there is something to be said about having this fresh at the source. Active carbonation and sweet finish with notes of corn swetness make this stand out.

Draft at Heritage. Poured a clear gold with a nice white head. Aroma of spicy hops and crackers malts? Flavor matches, with a show of spicy and floral hops. Maybe not totally clean, but darn tasty. Would love to see this as a regular offering.

Really surprised by just how good this is. Nice near clear copper yellow pour with good khaki head. Grassy/noble hop profile marries well with the breadiness of pilsen malt. Bitterness lingers quite a bit. Pretty good job for the style I would say.
