COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bourbon Barrel Aged Chocolate Raspberry Stout Finished on Madagascar Vanilla Beans. A dessert beer to the core, our Raspberry Stout is truly a feat in decadence. Loads of chocolate malt, cocoa nibs and local, late season red raspberries from Agriberry Farm all contribute to what would best be described as a raspberry truffle in liquid form. We then take this beer on another journey through months of maturation in freshly emptied bourbon barrels and finish it on Madagascar Vanilla Beans. The resulting flavor is a smooth, rich dark chocolate, ripe red raspberry and delicate notes of vanilla and bourbon.

From notes. Enjoyed this at Travis’s house on August 23 because I hadn’t seen the new digs yet, and it was Wednesday. 750 mL bottle. The pour on this is a dark brown/black with a dark mocha ring of head that lingers for a bit and then dissipates without any lace. The aroma is really good. There is a big bourbon that works its way through chocolate and a light delicate raspberry and into a bitter vanilla and oak before the bourbon comes back. This is really nice. The flavor is even better. The balance here is key. The bourbon is large, but the combination of chocolate, raspberry, and vanilla work as a sweet to bitter punch that takes some of the steam out of the bourbon. The oak really ties it all together. The mouth feel is medium bodied and softly carbonated with a lingeringly chocolate and vanilla fudge thing happening and a light raspberry. Whoa baby this is good. 8 4 9 4 16

750 ml bottle. Raspberry, chocolate, and vanilla. Lots of sweet malts. A bit of roast. Very smooth, soft carbonation. Doesn’t get cloying at all. Works rather well.

750ml bottle. Black pour huge raspberry jam aroma. Taste is a ton of raspberry, with some bourbon and chocolate. Slight oak and vanilla. The touch of vanilla seems to be more from the oak than added.

Rating #2000. $14.99 bomber from Wine Warehouse. Picked this one up specifically for #2000. Pours black with a large brown head, frothy and soft. Holy aroma of sweet raspberry jam, chocolates, vanilla. Honestly, if you love raspberries the aroma is absolutely perfect. Flavor is heavy sweet raspberry on top of dark chocolates and vanilla. Booze is in there as well, and where it’s definitely not hidden, it doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb. Well worth picking this beast up for #2000.
