3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pin served at the Hardywood Tap Takeover at Joe’s Inn. Pours a very dark clear brown with zero head. Upon first imbibing, I did not pick up on any bit of the orange peel. However, after further inspection, the flavor of blue curacoa is distinctly present in each sip. The roast and chocolate are the main notes for sure, and the smooth vanilla is present as well, but you can really pick up on the orange flavor. But it’s a little fake. Not like fresh orange zest, but more like artificial orange flavoring in candy. And that, I didn’t care for. Of course it was flat and watery on the palate as is to be expected from cask beer. Still pretty tasty though.
