COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unfiltered, unpasteurized, and uninhibited, Hardywood Singel is a feat in balance. Sunshine golden with a fluffy head and a veil of Belgian ale yeast, Singels tropical fruit esters complement its spicy hop aromatics. Delicate in body, Singels mellow, dry finish culminates a truly ethereal experience. Hardywood Singels stylistic inspiration originates with the Trappist brewers of western Europe, who are often celebrated for their gloriously complex dubbels and tripels, and whose devotion to crafting heavenly libations is second to none. Unknown to many, some of the Trappist brewers also brew a milder ale for daily consumption within the walls of the monastery. Hardywood Singel is our interpretation of this style.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Not much head. Golden color, nice floral aroma. Delicious Belgian yeast, a little lighter than many Belgian beers. A great one from Hardywood ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: APR 26, 2017 Draft at Khyber Pass. Hazy yellow gold with white foam. Splashes of lace. Medium caramel malts. Candied oranges. Queen Anne cherries. Celery hearts. Honeycomb. Pink peppercorns. Clove. Violets. Modestly sweet. A touch tart. Mostly dry finish. Well executed.

6.2%ABV. Belgian ale. Poured out yellow gold. 6SRM. Nose has steamed corn, and a hint of that stone dust, dry wood aroma that is characteristic of Belgian ale. Its what my brain and my palate dissect the yeasty aroma into. Hint of ripe fruit aroma. Mouthfeel is beery. Palate has strong malty flavor, more so than most Belgian ales. There is fresh barley loaves, white bread, biscuits. Front of the palate is woody, dry, alcoholic and bitter. Back end has more of the same. Finish is tannin-like bitter and a bit of spiciness suggestive of cilantro or the skin of a mild chili or pepper. Brief. Clean. Good food pairing would be spicy dishes with more body like Laksa or Tom Ga or curry. Overall a very nice, well-balanced and bold interpretation of a Belgian ale. Good.

Bottle. Slightly hazy straw, nice fruity aroma. Flavorful, fruit and light spice. I also get a bit of Edam cheese or something like that. Finish lingers. Maybe not as light and dry as the style dictates, which is OK. It still goes down easy. Better than so many American Belgian singles.

Quite a nice effervescence but beyond that, bit of a nothing beer. The Flavours is very subtle to the point of Nor really being there, equally theres Little aroma to re-enforce it.

Delicious and super refreshing beer. Theres a ton of beautiful tropical sweet aromas, accompanied by phenolic clove, bubblegum and banana. Its peppery and has a nice crackery biscuity malt taste. I will say, its a little dangerous. Its super refreshing and easy to drink. I could probably put down a six pack then have to crawl to bed. Its just really delicious, and I definitely recommend trying it. Cheers.
