22oz bottle pours cloudy cola brown. Aroma is caramel, some dark stone fruit. Tastes of caramel, cheesecake, browned straw. Slightly dry and bitter finish. Overall a little lackluster but not awful. nealblind (1867) - Seattle, Alabama, USA - NOV 4, 2014

A nice red that's not really a red. Pours a muddy brown with a thick tan head. Smells of cloves, Rosemary, honey and a bit of hops. Taste is quite different, very creamy, lots of mocha and vanilla, more like a porter. Sweeter then expected. Finishes with a slight hop bitterness. Had in the bottle. robforbes (2246) - Bremerton, Washington, USA - OCT 14, 2012
pours a semi-clear dark brown with a red tint, a small tan head that dissipates quickly, and good lacing.
smell is of roasted malt, caramel, spice, and pepper.
taste is thick, spice, caramel, malt, some hops, and brown sugar. ends a little oily and spicy. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - NOV 22, 2011
Bottle:   Deep amber, burnt reddish hues, moderate sandy colored head, spotty lacing.   Citrus
nose, slightly zesty, some caramel.   A little candied citrus peel as well.   Somewhat of a zesty/citrusy
start.   Not too bright, a little dull, moderate to full malt base.   Decent amount sweetness.
Bitterness is there, but not too strong.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate, yet smooth.   Pretty tasty
overall, could use a bit more body tho.   I would reach for another.

Clear copper color/ ivory head. Tea leaf, dank grass, caramel aromas. Medium bodied. Sweet spicy caramel flavors with bitter tea leaf hoppage to balance--good amber MarinaMarket (254) - POULSBO, Washington, USA - OCT 27, 2011
Sweet sugary malts and a touch of hops from the neck. Pours clear red with a thin but sturdy off-white head. Lots of bubbles clinging to the glass. Aroma of pine, candi sugar, and malt. Lots of hops in the flavor though. Sweet, medium bittered ale, with a little salt and hops. Seems very slightly acetic. Viscous, medium bodied, with a mild finish. The finish does linger on the palate though. Imperial Red? This really leans towards old ale or barleywine style ale IMO, and that’s why I like it. Tasted from the bottle @ 52F. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - OCT 2, 2011

Draft at the brewpub. Murky dark copper. Thin gray rim. Huge buttery nose. Creamy medium body. Lemony, caramelly, buttery mid-palate. Sweet, sticky, thick, cloying, and not a success.
Nose is sweet with dark fruit, roasted and toasted malts, caramel, slick sweetness, and some spicy and lightly fruity hops. Pours dark red with little to no head. The flavor is sweet and slick with lots of caramel, dark fruits, roasted malt notes, light spicy bitterness. All in all too slick and sweet for my liking. manuchampions (1244) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 27, 2011

So this was listed as a wheat ale at Naked City. Weird. Nose is wheaty and sweet with not much else. Pours hazy golden yellow, thin head. The flavor is sweet with notes of wheat, cereal grains, light fruits, lingering sweetness, a hint of hop bitterness. Medium sweet and wheaty with not much else going on. Not flawed, but not interesting.
Pours a clear, deep reddish brown with a persistent half inch of tan head. Aroma is veiled hops, some cereal malt and a slight sweet note. Fairly non-descript. Taste is more present. Woody with a real roasty malt note underpinned by some west coast hops. Chewy and fuller palette than I expected from a 7.8% beer. Alcohol is well worked and not too hot. Finish is slightly nutty and woody. Good but missing something.
