BARLEYWINEO (106) - Tacoma, USA - APR 28, 2012
A: Poured a nice deep prangish copper color with good carbonation leaving a nice white cap and some lacing on the glass even after it sat for five minutes. S: Light orange zest, grapefruit and a light bouquet fo flowers. T: Most excellent. A blend of citrus and floral notes with a rather biscuity note to it as well. A minimal booze presence and lots of good clean, defined tasting notes made this a treat to drink M: Medium body, Harmon keeps their beers balanced and this is an example of balanced IPA. Rather clean finish and not overly oily but Cascades tend to have lower Alphas so it helped this beer. O: Darn good and one of the best in the One Hop series thus far

Poured from a 22, golden amber color with a lot of year floaties. Aroma a perfect blend of hop and malt. Taste citrus flavor that is not over powering or overly bitter. Palate leaves a tiny but of brewer with just enough citra hop flavor. Absolutely would be a repeat purchase!

Draft at celtic bayou. Pours a cloudy medium amber with a loose white creamy head. Dense sheeting lace. Oranges and butter on the nose. Creamy, slick medium body. Toast, caramel, oranges, and butter on the mid palate. Dry resiny finish.

Bottle:   Amber, a little fiery, fairly clear, very light carbonation, moderate foamy off-white head.   Pale dank hoppy nose, somewhat like a wet hop but more muted.   100IBUs, really?   Seems pretty smooth on the tongue.   Hoppy, yet not overly bitter.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Not a big beer by any means.   Little wet citrusy aspect, slightly sweet, hops diminish towards the exit.   This canít be 100 IBUs, that seems like nonsense.   Becomes sweeter on the exit.   Seems like a stronger Pale Ale.   Not overly hoppy, a bit sweet, and certainly not 100 IBUs.   Has a citrus aspect that is enjoyable, not acidic by any means.   Could drink this all day long.

Courtesy of Pailhead. Copper, chill haze, nice head. Aroma is residuel malt, crystal malt sweetness. Not much for hops, light citrus character. Flavor all malt sweetness, already has some oxidation, barely any hop character detectable. Sticky sweet, mouthfeel.

Bottle: The aroma consists of sweet oranges, peaches, and lighter grapefruit. It pours a hazy, bordering on cloudy, amber with lots of sediment and a small off-white head that quickly fades to a thin soapy film. The flavor starts with peach and lighter orange. The finish has light grapefruit. Light-medium bodied with mild carbonation.

Nice fruity citrus nose. Lemon, lime, grapefruit, some lightly sweet malt shows up as well. Pours golden amber, thin head, light lace. Flavor is a little more subdued then the nose, but has notes of lemon and lime, grapefruit, caramel, pale malts, and quenching citrus notes in the finish. Fruity hop finish. Very drinkable and refreshing as far as IPA is concerned. A solid offering.

22oz bottle from Bottleworks. Pours a Deep bright light amber tinted golden with ample tight white head. Nose isnít supper aggressive but has the nice pungent lemon, passion fruit, and pink grapefruit hop aroma of the Citra. Touch of pine and grass and no detectable malt character other then what it adds to the sweetness of the citrus from the hops. Lighter body feel with tight small even carbonation. Flavor is nice and light...a bit lighter than the nose...whit light tropical and lemon hops that has decent bittering on the finish. Love that fact that the malt plays a total back seat on this. I guess my only fault is that I would want a touch more dry hopping.
