Serving: from tap at Harmon Brewery and Restaurant.
Aroma: moderate vanilla and smoke.
Appearance: small, creamy, light-brown, initial head with excellent lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Clear, cola-brown body.
Taste: moderate vanilla initial flavor and heavy smoke finish with long duration.
Palate: medium body, oily texture and lively carbonation.
Overall: excellent. Great smokey flavor, lasting aroma. phildorsey (161) - Fort Carson, Colorado, USA - OCT 1, 2011
1pint 6oz Btl. Pours black with a brown frothy head. Hints of Roast and nuts dominate the nostrils. Palate is live...very live, and the flavor is lightly bitter but refreshing. Overall; impressive... the puget porter is an excellant beer. DarkElf (3067) - La Jolla, California, USA - SEP 1, 2005
(Draft: Harmon Brewery & Restaurant in Tacoma, WA) With the wonderfully toasty and moderately sweet chocolate aroma starting off this beer, I’m really expecting something great here. Man, I can sit here and smell this beer all day. Mmm, mmm, sweet and toasty initially, the chocolate really comes out in the mid-palate. Medium-to-full bodied, lightly carbonated, and extremely easy to drink. Medium brown color, translucent next to light, with a light tan head that like all their other beers, starts small and quickly settles to a small ring, leaving no lacing. Wow this is tasty stuff. Highly recommended. 5000 (6900) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JUL 9, 2004
Bottle pours black with brown hightlights, medium frothy tannish colored head, with fairly sticky lacing. Roasted malts, dry/chalky like semi-sweet chocolate on the nose. Smooootttthhh.... very good mouthfeel is the first thing I noticed. A nice roasty flavor, mild chocolate, slightly hoppy finish. Wonderful finish, good mouthfeel... this is a solid porter. This is way under-rated! CapFlu (5132) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 24, 2013
(22oz bottle) Purchased at Hillside Liquors. Pours a frothy large off-white head atop an opaque body. Nose of ashtray and toasted malt. Very good mouthfeel and minor bitterness through the finish.very good.

Pours a finger and half of tan head on a black body.
The aroma is mostly roasted malt and burnt wood, really nice.
The flavor is balanced and deep, roasted malt, burnt malt, charred wood, and mild bitter finish.
The texture is smooth with low to moderate carbonation.
An outstanding porter.
