this harmon offering was a pleasant surprise. there is a strong and pleasing malt note to this DIPA which makes it entirely drinkable and leaves you wanting more. There is absolutely no bias due to Tacoma being my home town...a good ale is where you find it!
Bottle. Pours a cloudy darker amber color with a moderate white head on there. Nose is bready and earthy with just a bit of toffee coming through. Taste is bitter but earthy and unfresh. Just not all that appealing for me. 50belair (3670) - Florida, USA - JUN 10, 2014
On tap at the brew pub. Clear amber pour with a white head. Sweet with big mellon, honey, and caramel malt notes. Enough bitterness from the hops to keep it honest. Good body and mouthfeel. Smooth and creamy. mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - MAY 11, 2014
Good but not great. At this ABV level, the resin is just too high. Consistency likewise is quite syrupy for the ABV. Think of all the flavor, if you will, of DFH120, without the ABV. A worthwhile tradeoff for some. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - JAN 25, 2014
bottle, apparently it seems that i sat on this too long. caramel maltiness heavy, medium piney bitterness. malts win this battle. not bad robforbes (2257) - Bremerton, Washington, USA - OCT 8, 2012

This poured a darker orange color with a white head. Aroam was of caramel, stale hops, and toasted malt. Flavor was much the same, malty with light bitterness, but not much hop flavor. Meh. solidfunk (9213) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - AUG 23, 2012
This should really just be called an American Strong Ale, not an IPA. There isn’t enough hop profile. Rated as an american strong ale it’s not bad, just doesn’t fit the style. Smell is boozy and caramel-like. Pours clear brown. Has a little sweet plum, some oakiness. Decent drink if you don’t pay attention to the label. Thanks to Adrian for bringing me this one. 22 ounce bottle pours an amber color. Aromas of pine, caramel, grapefruit and citrus. Flavors are the same with some citrus peel to add to the bitterness. Decent beer overall, doesnt taste like a 9%er. Thanks Eric for the trade. savnac (2391) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - JUN 12, 2012
22 oz bottle. Clear light amber with a tiny off white head. Aroma of mostly sweet caramel with some pine and citrus. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, light hop bitterness and light alcohol. Medium body with mild carbonation and a syrupy mouth feel. Not a big fan of this one, super sweet.
