A crisp lager from the land of U2 and the IRA. Ever since I lived near a Harp factory in Manchester, I liked this beer. Now, in retrospect, I realize that I was stupid. I rather prefer a maltier lager, and this tastes far too metallic with cardboard notes. Horrible. Holdwine (1240) - Beertimore, Maryland, USA - JUL 31, 2002
A great beer for drinking large quantities. Looks great in a glass (straw color), slightly fruity aroma. sharp taste, crisp finish. A good 'American Standard'. grymy (105) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - JUL 30, 2002
bitter at first but after a few sips it goes down excellent................. DrunkAsASkunk (847) - Lynnwood, Washington, USA - JUL 28, 2002
UPDATED: FEB 25, 2003 Harps is a nice change when you go out to dinner. Smooth, yet distinct taste, good body...very pleased. It comes out of Ireland and is made by Guinness, i would expect nothing less. jpknight22 (171) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUL 28, 2002
Most recently I sat down at a bar with 10 or so beers on tap, and this was my favorite. This beer is actually very fruity, slightly bitter, and great as cold as you can get it. This and the Guiness were probably my two favorites, beating out the Newcastle, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, and typical American brews among others...

This beer I have had in bottles more than on tap. It was a dark straw color and formed a white head that left little lace. It had an aroma of hops and the flavor was of hops with a slight bread aspect. The finish was light, and a touch dry and bitter.

No-distinct lager. Light in colour and flavour and fairly mediocre......... jaymobrown (1845) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 26, 2002
Don't find this particularly sweet - quite the opposite. A good lager with no frills. dts2599 (21) - USA - JUL 25, 2002
Very smooth. Went great with snack food. I didn't think that it was that sweet. If it's cold, it's much better. blank (996) - Austin, Texas, USA - JUL 25, 2002
Guiness light, black and tan , part two. And still a good beer on it's own.
