I am not a lager fan, but this is about as good as it gets, there is actual malt and hop presence here. Probably one of the best beers of its style

Always enjoyed this beer, until it lost some of its brewing roots and began being produced in Canada. Still a credible Irish lager. Good in a half-and-half.

The famous Irish 'Lager' is chock full of sulphur notes. What's the point? Lagering should reduce the sulphur. You may as well brew it as an ale if your going to put it out with these fermentation characteristics.

Decent, crisp lager. Slightly bitter with a clean flavor. ................

Medium caramel malt aroma. Don't think I've ever seen so many carbonation bubbles in a beer. It's almost like champagne! I expected a thicker head from the makers of Guiness; nevertheless a well above average head and fantastic, frothy white brussels lace! Like Boddingtons, this is a European brewmaker's attempt to appeal to the American, fringe, wannabe beer connoisseur. Unlike Boddingtons, this one has the redeeming quality of flavor.

Not as disasterous as some rival efforts (hello Fosters, Bud et al). There are actually hints of malts and hops here! Average.

Not bad for a beer they sell at the pool hall. I was feeling A-OK after about 4 of these. Somewhat bitter, overall clean tasting.

A good beer with an order of chicken wings at your local Hooters. Nice aroma (smells like a nice, strong American beer). A little bit more bitter than your average Joe (that's a good thing) but not a paradigmatic 'bitter' if you will. Still, this is the perfect beer for your average baseball/football sunday.

TheOrange (479) - Kent, Ohio, USA - MAY 14, 2002
Clean crisp, and smooth. Not bad for an American Standard. Good for every day stuff, not a special occassion beer.

3.3

Decent lager. Nice golden color, very smooth, clean taste. Not very flavorful or extrodinary, but not too bad.
