Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured dark clear amber color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted and had fair lacing. Moderate sweet toasted rye aroma. Medium bodywith a dry texture and soft carbonation. Moderate roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium tingly bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Drinkable brew. Light flavor. This is really OK for Harpoon. The flavor is a bit thin but the rye finish is interesting. Would give it another go.
Very light in color for a red ale. Small grassy aroma. Flavor is thin with a spicy rye aftertaste. I was underwhelmed.

Bomber from Wine Specialty. Copper color with a decent white head. Aroma of resin hop. Medium body with nearly creamy carbonation. Flavor is roasted malt and resin hop, perhops with a touch of floral/citrus. Finish is fruity and nearly dry. This is a great ale. It is incredibly tasty. Get it. Enjoy it. Smooth and mellow. Hoppy. Bitter. Wonderful. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 25, 2008
(22oz bottle) Clear amber body topped by medium beige head, some lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, rye, some toast, light floral, spice. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, toast, some rye, chocolate, light floral. Smooth light-medium body. 3fourths (9358) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 25, 2008
Bottle shared by argo0. Clear red colored body with a white head. Nose of stinky cobwebs, light yeast, some coarse rye and cracked barley, cherry wood, toast, etc. Astringent on the palate, coarse, but light bodied, with a touch of sweetened apple and caramel to go with the rye. Not as bad as I was expecting from Harpoon. Ughsmash (7510) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 25, 2008
On tap at the Brew Kettle. Poured clear medium amber with a well-retained cap of white head. The aroma picked up sweeter caramel and fruity notes with a lovely topper of black pepper and rye spicage.. raw phenol notes on the back detracted a bit from the enjoyment. The flavor had a creamy, almost buttery middle with caramel leading the way.. too spicy on the back with candied rye and alcohol-infused lighter fruits.. sharp. Too sweet on the palate without letting the rye character lead.. buttered up and off-balance at times.. I had higher hopes for this. kmweaver (3208) - Petaluma, California, USA - JUN 25, 2008
22oz bottle, courtesy of argo0. Thanks, Aaron! Pours a clear, effervescent orange color; fluffy, textured light khaki head with excellent retention and solid lacing. Basic sugar and rye and wet malts in the aroma. Medium mouthfeel: touch of alcoholic warmth coming through; candy sugar, sweet basic malts, very light crisp rye presence (touches of astringency); basic, reasonably drinkable stuff, if a touch bland and sweet. Lengthy finish: wet malts, candy sugar, some roughness.
