I don’t typically like the taste of ginger, but for some reason it was so fantastic as a beer! I could drink this again and again. SPDickerman (1239) - Texas, USA - JUN 18, 2012
Pours clear golden orange with a large white head. Smells mildly funky with lots of ginger and some subtle wheat notes. Taste is refreshing ginger with sweet wheat character and hints of lemon and honey. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and average mouth-carbonation, Harpoon 100 Barrel Series #42 - Ginger Wheat finishes with a touch of ginger spiciness. Poured from the tap into a tasting glass.
The smell is sweet with a nice light ginger flavor and some hints of lemon zest and corriander.
The taste is pretty close to ginger ale and has a good ammount of carbonation to give it a fissy flavor as well. Lemon flavor pokes out a bit with a slight honey flavor as well.
The feel of this beer is really light and enjoyable. The carbonation is like a soda a bit so it does remind you of ginger ale a bit. Goes down easy and is quite thirst quenching.

Definite ginger aroma, flavor, and finish. I can taste raw ginger w/ notes of licorice; color is golden w/ thin white head around the rim. jabersquawk (10) - Portland, Maine, USA - FEB 14, 2014
Ginger lends earthy quality to the subtle flavor of the wheat. Lots of ginger in the nose. Well-balanced.

Pours a hazy gold with a delicate medium white head. Aroma is dominated by ginger and honey. Floral, wheat and a little citrus(lemon) also come through. Taste is sweet with a somewhat dry finish with the tartness of citrus coming through on the end. The ginger and honey come through strongly on the taste. I enjoyed this beer as it was very refreshing and went down easy. May be a little much for a session beer with the complexity.

A very quaffable beer; has enough body and strength to pair with food, or enjoy alone. Had on tap at Plan B, aroma of - you guessed it - ginger; some spice and malt in there as well. Flavor follows the aroma. It’s a solid summer brew. Of the three 100 Barrel series I’ve had this year (Spruce Tip ale, Maple wheat, and Ginger wheat), this has been by far the best and most balanced. thornecb (5918) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 27, 2009
Pours a slightly hazed gold into a shaker. Bright white micro head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Immediate ginger aromas with some hidden wheat. Crisp ginger from front to back with some wheat fullness into a lasting ginger burn. Very nice. dlovell2 (2142) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JAN 24, 2010
Cloudy golden color with foamy white head. Citrus and Ginger aromas. Wheat flavor with lemon notes and spicy Ginger taste. The Ginger gives a peppery bite. Very unique. keepersj12 (3117) - Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA - MAR 14, 2010
Very nice indeed for a cold winter night. Pours a light hazy amber with a big fluffy head. Aroma is ginger snap and lemon. Flavor is similar with a bit of pepper in the back of the throat. Sounds strange but the lemon and ginger work well with the honey to create a very unusual but pleasant beer.
