3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma: sweet, caramel, noble hop. Appearance: Dark copper, beige head. Taste: Nicely balanced, earthy, spicy hop notes with a sweet, slightly toasty malt profile to back it up. Very nice brew, can not think of anything critical to say about it.
22oz bottle. Poured an amber color with an off white head. Grains, earth, and oxidation. Patrickctenchi (6666) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - OCT 23, 2014
Pours nearly clear, dark amber-brown with a large, craggy tan head.
Caramel, biscuit aroma.
Caramel malt, apple-peel, cola flavour.....slightly bready, spicy...
A pretty good one, overall. kevinator (2444) - The Colony, Texas, USA - APR 27, 2014
Interesting beer and style. Definite malt aroma with a slight hint of spice. Full flavor and heavier than expected with average carbonation. Color was a reddish brown with a decent head. Malty up front that lingers and develops into a spiciness reminiscent of rye. Slight hop bitterness at the end with some dryness. I liked the uniqueness but not an everyday lager. smcolw (617) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - JAN 28, 2014
Very nice starting head. It settles slowly and in a rocky fashion, leaving some chunky lace on the glass. The liquid is crystal clear but dark, like a light brown ale.
Crystal malt is the initial nose; there’s also some definitive hop presence, but it’s mellow and in the background. True to the Vienna style, if a little on the darker side. (On my second pour, I detected a light earthiness.)
Much dryer than the smell would indicate. A little astringent. Darker malt (maybe chocolate along with a high-kilned crystal). The finish is short with a little bitter hop spice. Again it matches the profile, but a little on the dark side. For a lager, this is a richer styled beer. To me, that’s a great mouthfeel.
Another beer to seek out from the series... jgb9348 (6394) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - APR 14, 2013
Nice slightly chunky amber and copper coloured body with a very thin, off-white head and a ruby and peach tint. Aroma of apricots, apples, pears, metal, malt and a bit of rubbing alcohol. Light-bodied; Sharp metallic note up front with a very thin malt note, some lighter sugars and a definite earthiness. Aftertaste shows more of the same with only a hint of light grassy hops the only thing different than the metallic malt and the thin alcohol flavour. Overall, not such a great beer at all, and I’m not sure what people liked about this one, but I’m not a fan at all and would recommend others to not buy this one at all. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Ramsey Liqours in Ramsey, New Jersey on 22-February-2013 for US$4.59 sampled at home in Washington on 14-April-2013.

Floral, herbal, and spicy hop aromas with light caramel underpinnings. Deep amber with a small head. Balanced with a spicy hop finish. Medium bodied and a little flat with a well rounded better finish and a smooth mouthfeel. tbopslt (354) - New York, USA - FEB 26, 2013
Pours a clear amber, head almost nonexistent, no lacing to speak of. Malt aroma.
Taste is smooth to start, slightly bitter finish but rather enjoyable.

Bottle. Toffee malt and green hay aroma. Copper with small head. Lightly sweet caramel malt and hay flavor. Light but overall a nice Landbier. queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - DEC 29, 2012
Bottle. Caramel barley malt aroma. Clear copper with a small beige head. Spicy, caramel malt flavor with an herbal bitter finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation. bytemesis (8808) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - JUL 18, 2012
Bottle. Pours clear amber with a medium off-white creamy head that laces well. Aroma is caramel, malt, spice. Taste is quite sweet with caramel, notes of chocolate, a mild anise note coming in late. Mildly bitter finish. Quite complex for its ABV, and a nice brew.
