COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Oak Aged Dunkel is brewed using traditional German ingredients and aged on American Oak. The brew itself is highlighted by Munich malt, Tettnang hops, and German Ale yeast, resulting in a clean, earthy flavor. After primary fermentation is complete, we transfer the beer to a secondary aging vessel containing oak infusion spirals. These oak spirals contribute subtle, woody sweetness and vanilla notes. The wood complements the malt character and adds a layer of complexity to the delicate, herbal hops. The result is a pleasing, drinkable autumn beer. The best place to enjoy this beer is during the winter, next to a roaring fire, along with a bratwurst. This beer was brewed by Gabe Allen-Fahlander, Harpoon brewer BEER SPECIFICATIONS Style: Oak Aged Dunkel Original Gravity: 15.2 Alcohol by Volume: (ABV) 5.7% IBU’S: 30 Color (EBC): 74

On tap. Medium brown pour with a light brown head. Mild sweet aroma of roast and wood. Flavor is pretty bland. A little bit of malt sweetness. There is a very mild wood character, but it’s not all that pleasant. As my girlfriend put it, it tasted like "when you chew on a toothpick for a while". Couldnt have put it any better. Just very boring overall, and a bit thin and watery. Not impressive.
