this beer is so average. Big let down. No spurce tips. No distisnt hop character, no complex malty palate. Just a beer.
Pass on this. I wish I did

On draft pour. Dark amber with a red hue. Thin light white head. Spruce in the nose. Spruce in the taste with almost a cherry after taste. Smooth for 7 percent. adrian910ss (2594) - Doylestown, PA, USA - JAN 5, 2012
22 oz bomber. Pours a clear coppery amber with a medium sized off white head. Aroma of roasted caramel malts, light Spruce notes, mild citrus and hints of hops. Taste is much the same as the aroma. Spruce notes come out as the beer warms. rougeau13 (3183) - Richmond, Texas, USA - JAN 3, 2012
Tap at Sugar Land Saucer. Clear amber-copper with a medium white head. Aroma of spruce, herbs, some caramel malt and light fruit. The taste is very spruce centered, almost overpoweringly so, and that adds a spicy, herbal character to the malt flavors. Medium bodied. I get it, but the spruce is just a bit over done for my taste. beachbum25 (1092) - Powellville, Maryland, USA - DEC 31, 2011
On tap @ Lure’s-Crownsville MD-golden pour w/a moderate head. Spruce aroma. Spruce malt flavor, some hops mixed in, a little caramel, some roasted nuts. Kind of a muddled mess, not really sure what they were going for here. Didn’t really think too much of this one.

Pours with a good amount of head, medium carbonation. On the nose, it’s boozy with a good amount of funk. There’s some hops in there but also with some faint fruit flavors. Color is medium brown, slightly red. On the tongue there’s some vanilla, cherry, wood flavor, slight alcohol burn. Light to medium body. Some Christmas spice in the background, but doesn’t come together all that great. Enjoyability 3/5. puboflyons (3490) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 29, 2011
From a bottle with an expiration date of 03/15/2012. The pour is a handsome medium to dark amber that reminds me of pine tree brown. Lots of carbonation and a small head. The aroma is earthy, piney, and slightly malty. The body is rotund but not bold. Whereas the aromas and balanced but not overpowering, the flavor is a bit more so with an obvious earthy, pine hoppiness and a sweet malty character. There is a slightly different earthiness to it that is notable. It finishes on the dry side. LyndaNova (531) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 28, 2011
Cold, 22oz bottle: Pours a clear, medium orange color with an off-white head that dissolves. Aroma is of pine, flowers, and malt. Taste is of a nice blend of malts, spruce, and hops. Medium bodied and smooth, with playful carbonation. Ending is of light caramel into mint. Volgon (2761) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 28, 2011
Bomber: Pours a clear orange with a medium white head, aroma has pine and light fruits, starts and ends lightly bitter with a juicy ending, medium bodied with average carbonation and a lingering bitterness. It is hard to tell where the hops end and the spruce starts.
