330ml bottle. Deep brown body with large tan head. Mild aroma of malt and coffee. Pretty good, would recommend. sonnycheeba (6126) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 13, 2013
Tap. Pours dark brown with average, creamy beige head; decent retention and spare lacing. Aroma is roasted and cookie malts, earthy hops, light ash, plums, figs, and light vanilla. Flavor is roast and chocolate malts forward, light ash, light earthy hops, and some dark fruit esters; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation. climberbob (458) - Virginia, USA - MAR 10, 2013
Dark ruby almost black. Not much head or aroma. First hit is of bitter hops that mellows to some malt and wood. Can't taste the peat though. The commercial description of a cross between a pale and stout is accurate. So either a thin hoppy stout or dark pale. Still, not a bad easy drinking beer.

Bottle at James’ place. Pours cola brown with a beige head. Lightly sweet malts, lighter roasted malts notes, and hints of floral hops. Good, not great. Sammy (12351) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 9, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 10, 2013 A decent stout interrupted by this pale ale. I think detracts rather than adds. The bit of smoke in the initial aroma and taste was nice. After that a pleasant and drinkable beer, although nothing outstanding to say about it, other than slightly thick mouthfeel though a drop of acidity.Bottle from recent Premiere trip.

A nice surprise. Aroma was decent. Earthy hops and roasted malt. Pour was a nice deep dark brown with a thing off white ring for a head. Taste was very complex and nice. Just as the commercial description says, it’s a nice mix of a hoppy pale ale and roasted malt from the stout. The big win here is the nice smokiness. There’s a distinct smoke flavor that’s not just an afterthought and it makes this beer delicious. Nice carbonation. jkwalking05 (4743) - Arlington, Texas, USA - MAR 8, 2013

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 3/6/13
Aroma: The nose is roasted malts, some toast, earthy, and a bit of unsweetened coffee
Appearance: Pours a dark brown color with a small, sheeting tan colored head and plenty of lace
Flavor: The taste is much the same as the nose with a bit more of a hop bite to the finish
Palate: The body is light-medium, with a smooth Pale Ale feel, and some dryness on the finish
Solid stuff, there’s something enjoyable about it, but also something muddled. The description of it being part APA and part Stout makes sense, even if the concept doesn’t totally make sense.
