TATE (407) - Lubec, Maine, USA - JAN 30, 2013
On tap at the Nocturnem Draft Haus. Pours black with a tan head. They had it listed as a Black and Tan. This was a great combo of stout and pale ale with the blending providing a mello, smoky, roasty taste similar to a porter

This is a good suggested brew. It’s a great start to the night. This is the best harpoon I’ve ever had

llcooldave (1221) - San Antonio, Texas, USA - JUN 28, 2013
Pours black with a whole lot of ruby when held up to the light. Very assertive coffee mocha aroma. When tasting, the aroma and flavors combine to form a coco puffs cereal type flavor combination with a hint of coffee. Its actually quite tasty. I’ll definitely have to pick up some more...

Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - APR 19, 2013
Slutfest. Medium brown, slight head. Slight coffee aroma. Flavor is like a typical brown ale, coffee and a hint of chocolate. Decent. Feel like my scores were a bit kind here somehow.

3.6
MadRobin (2988) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - FEB 4, 2013
Poured from 22 oz. bottle in North Conway, NH. Clear, but nearly opaque, deep brown with 2-finger tan head and good lacing. Aroma of coffee, caramel, roasted malt, molasses and light hops. Taste of dark fruit, roasted malt, smoke, molasses, coffee and hops with a slightly bitter finish. Nice balance of sweet, smokey and bitter. Medium/light body and low/medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

annunz123 (963) - Taunton, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 9, 2013
Musty, earthy aroma with some grassy hops. Flavor starts sweet with a little chocolate, finishes with some grassy, coffee bitterness and a little tinny flavor. Not as good as some of the others from this series, but still worth trying.

3.6
Emeister84 (2505) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - APR 13, 2013
Smoky, roasty, cocoa, tar, and espresso on the nose. Clear brown with moderately lasting, beige head. Dry and bitter. Medium body, lively carbonation, and finishes clean.

3.6
Cybercat (6010) - Georgia, USA - MAY 2, 2013
Pours a slightly hazy sepia with a very thick, if none too persistent, fluffy light tan head. Aroma has hints of coffee and roast malt and just a whisper of caramel. Flavor has a malty core with notes of woody hops and smoke and a hint of coffee. Texture is firm, smooth and a little edgy, leaving a roast malt and rather hoppy finish that is only slightly bitter. Decent, if not Harpoon’s best.
