A really great local beer. Picked up a bomber and it really got my attention. Very smooth, very drinkable and deceptively strong. Has fruits, nuts and brown sugar involved. Get one if you can find it. alfonsobadass (15) - Dallas, Texas, USA - DEC 19, 2017
Given to me by a buddy who just got back from Boston. A really interesting, complex beer that seem to balance out the booze and the flavor well. Have a nice mellow vibe, but kicks like a mule. Wish he got me a couple of these. beerbombthrower (25) - Derry, New Hampshire, USA - NOV 23, 2017
UPDATED: NOV 24, 2017 Harpoon makes a great specialty beer and this one is no exception. Picked up a bomber and poured this gorgeous beer into a glass. The taste was both sweet and spicy without bitterness. Has a great easy feel with its high ABV delivering a warming, not burning, effect. A great beer that really give Harpoon a good name. angoradad (38) - USA - NOV 22, 2017
Bomber courtesy of my son, who has a case of them (I guess he likes it). A beautiful amber beer that smells of brown sugar, dried fruit and caramel but tastes like port with a hint of spices. This is a very well balanced beer that has a lot of flavor and character. dlovell2 (2398) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - NOV 14, 2017
Poured from bomber purchased at brewery. Pours dark brown with an amber tint and an off white head. Aroma is toasted malt with dark fruit. Flavor is sweet caramel with raisins and a toasted malt and boozy finish.

Pours dark golden with a slight head that quickly dissipates. Aroma has notes of plum, toffee and roast. Taste is raisin, sweet bread and spice. Aftertaste has more spice, plus booziness. A really quality doppelbock that I hope the brewer considers making a regular offering. ganache (6108) - New Jersey, USA - OCT 29, 2017
Bomber from WW. Nose rich dark malt, sweet with red berry, but also heavy Munich, earth, light spice, heavy toffee and slight roast. Pour is beautiful medium-caramel with fiery ruby highlights in the glass, a sudsy tan head. Taste strongly sweet, strongly boozy, medium bitterness not enough to balance the sweetness, rich in slightly-buttery malt, a fair base of orangey-citrus to Americanize. Spice, light wood, full fat malty body. Little touch of bread/yeast, lots of bright red berry. The booze is too unrestrained for huge marks, but very inviting. 22oz. bottle. drank straight from the bottle. Very malty with a strong bourbon/whiskey barrel taste. Very strong abv and it's definitely noticeable. Alcohol taste comes through. This bottle is basically the equivalent of four beers so it hits hard. Next up I'd try the harpoon barleywine. Frost hammer is an excellent choice for Scottish style beer lovers even though this is supposed to be a German style doppelbock. Just as good as skull splitter (Scottish import). Made me take a second look at harpoon when I've mainly stuck by Sam Adams for Boston beers. crajun (1279) - , Texas, USA - SEP 24, 2017
bomber. really enjoyed this - not sure I can place all of the flavors - at times like a Scottish ale dopplebock? others mentioned tobacco and campfire - maybe + the normal dopple stuff - caramel, malty, etc. maybe a tad sweet finish (as some dopples are). will have again. i don’t like doppelbocks, but i still believe in trying beers no matter what, and this is why i do. I respect this brewery and had a feeling they could do this style right, and this blew me away .. very rich malt and syrup, all sweet and smooth .. abv is undetectable .. lovely all around, great bock .. . if i owned a gun, i’d have killed myself a long time ago.
