Bottle in Northfield, MA. Nice amber body with medium head. Nose is hoppy, spicy and well-balanced. Taste is also malty with spices and some hopping. Smooth texture. Nice finish.

Reviewed from notes of my time spent in New England. This was poured into a chalice. The appearance was a fairly decent bronzed golden yellow color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipates within about a minute. The lacing was there and somewhat trickling but noticeable enough to see that it was at a nice slow pace. The smell had a fairly decent mellow sweet maltiness running over some really light Belgian spices. The taste took those flavors to combine and basically let a fairly nice sweetness overtake the tastebuds. On the palate, this one sat at/about a light to medium in body as it showed a fairly good sessionability about it. The carbonation was there and slightly sharp but not overbearing. Overall, I say this was a fairly decent Belgian pale ale, its just nothing over the top.

Pours a golden color with white head. Citrus and some spice on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with just a little malt.

Surprisingly clear, dark gold color. Brief head that leaves no lace on the glass. Sour malty aroma with a very high yeasty nose. There’s also a metallic (iron-like) smell. Overall, the taste is quite different from the smell. Notable hop taste that wasn’t present. The swallow does show some of the sourness, but it is short lived. The body is very thin for the style. It’s not bad, but it isn’t spectacular either.

Enjoyed at the Windsor brewery. Once of my "gotos" when attending Harpoon events... love the mild hoppiness coupled with the Belgian flare...

draft at Coles, lighter amber pour, floral yeastiness, light medicinal notes, bubblegum. medium bodied, this was a good BPA

On tap at the brewery in 2010. Poured a gold/orange color with a whitish head. Aroma of yeast/spice, banana, flowers, and earth. Flavor was bready, sweet, yeasty, with some earth. For the Belgian Pale Ale fusion thing, this was ok.

Medium amber with a frothy head and big streaks of lace. This brew is a conundrum: the label says Belgian Ale, but the taste and appearance say Medium Hopped Amber Ale. Nothing wrong with that, in fact, it’s quite enjoyable, but it was jarring to first taste this expecting the sweet caramel malt, citrus, and coriander one expects in the style. More like caramel malt offset by light-to-medium American hops. Recommended, but ignore the Belgian business.

Bottle. Pretty good marriage of the Harpoon IPA with the spicy and banana notes of the added yeast. This is a drinkable, sessionable beer.
