Flavor is of malts, chocolate, some dark fruit, more chocolate, and a little booze. Leaves a chocolate malt finish. chinchill (5377) - South Carolina, USA - NOV 15, 2015
22 oz bottle served in a Porter Bar goblet at about 45F.
Clear but very dark red-brown body with a rather weak head; streaks of lacing.
Aroma: soft ripe fruit, faint chocolate and fruit cake.
Flavor: Moderately sweet with some light bitterness appearing in the aftertaste. Hints of dark and milk chocolate, vanilla and cherry juice. A little bit boozy but nicely compatible with other aspects of the flavor profile. A bit sweeter than I’d prefer but no sweeter than to be expected for a beer of this specific style.
Feel: smooth, near full body with light carbonation, although it does not seem under-carbonated. The 9.8% ABV is partially hidden but mostly evident.

Originally reviewedon 6/1/14. Pours a deep brownish black body. The head starts out thick and fizzy, but recedes quickly and leaves some spotted lace. Aromas were of chocolate malts, yeasts, cocoa powder all were on the faint side. Mouthfeel is on the thick side, abv is hidden fairly well. Flavor is about the same as the aromas, no cherries coming through, a bit disappointing." Drake (14332) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 14, 2015
Bomber from State Line, 4/11/15. Clear dark red tinted brown, thin fizzy tan head, poor retention. Aroma of chocolate cake and cherries. Pretty spot on. The taste is chocolate, roasted malts, cherries, vanilla, cocoa, raisin. Thin bodied, mild lingering roast. Solid.

(bottle - 22 oz) Dark black pour with a thin tan head. Chocolate aroma with just a light hint of cherry. Some roasted malts as well. Flavor is kind of mild alas. Some chocolate with just the barest hint of cherry. Mostly cocoa and roasted malt. BrewBoxer (2667) - New York, New York, USA - APR 22, 2015

22 oz / 650 ml bottle bottle purchased at One Stop Market. Aroma shows me mild roast, light chocolate and weak cherry syrup.

Upfront of the flavor of cherry syrup followed by weak chocolate and roast. Maybe I need to take a palate reset week because damn near every brew I have had lately seems like it has a very thin body, like this brew. Do I have palate fatigue??? Again, thin body. Oh wait this is a Harpoon beer, so the body should be thin. Positive aspect the ABV is hidden and it still tastes good.
Bottle gift from SJ. I really liked this brew. There was a lot going on. Notes of dark fruit like raisins and plums, roasted malts, brown sugar, bread and roasted malts. The finish was cherry and roasty. All these ingredients were masterfully blended. Well done!

Bottle. Pours brownish black wit a thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate, cherries, roasted malts and had a hint of coffee. Flavor of tart cherries, milk chocolate, roasted malts, light coffee and had a bit of caramel. Creamy smooth texture, medium body, soft carbonation.
