Bottle. Pours ruby brown with a thin off white head. Syrupy and malty aroma with light hops. The flavor is malty sweet with caramel, maple syrup, and some light hops to give balance. Not bad. JoeMcPhee (9459) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 17, 2009
Tap at Pony Bar. Light brown pour with a thin white head. The nose has a lot of toasted character. Light brown malt, herbal cocoa and a bit of rye bread like spiciness. Fairly herbal tasting with a nice clean nuttiness. The hops show a kiss of earthy woodiness as well. It’s a fairly simple brown ale, but it’s decent enough. A bit of spice as it warms. Pours clear copper with brown hues and thin off white head. The aroma is roasty with hints of caramel and slight dark roastiness. It tastes roasty with fairly full notes of malt, sugar and some caramel sweetness. Pretty nice stuff. jredmond (8445) - New York, New York, USA - MAY 12, 2008
UPDATED: MAY 19, 2008 12 oz bottle: Brown "Session" Ale. I’m not too sure if I’d drink this beer over and over again, but Im not a huge fan of brown ales in general. This one was sort of light tasting - with some nut in the aroma and taste. Nothing great.
