Pours dark and black, settling more into burnt black woods. Fluffy tan head fades slowly with bubbles sticking to the sides of my glass. Swirls dark and bubbly and clumpy.
Chocolate! Did someone say chocolate? Order chocolate? Because chocolate is on the menu, yes indeed, and I like it. Brownies, fudge, milk chocolate bars. Milk chocolate up front, dry chocolates in the back. Dense, decadent, and chewy and I haven’t even tasted it. Roasty along the edges. Touch of tartness and tannins in the back – black cherry skins. Fudge covered raisins in the middle.
Creamy chocolate decadence. Vanilla bean and cream and milk chocolate in the front through the middle. Dry parching finish of burnt crumbly almost ashen chocolates. Black cherry skins contribute parching thirst-inducing bitterness which balances the rich chocolate decadence. More fudge, brownies, and chocolate cake, ohmy.
Delicious! I love Harpoon and their beers the more I drink them. Quality, consistency, and flavor. They are delicious and as simple and complex as you what them to be without be inferior or insipid. Chocolate Stout, why yes I will.
Half pours on draft from notes. Pours dark brown in color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma has chocolate, cocoa and carries a bit too much sweetness. The flavor has light roasted malts, cocoa, chocolate, a milky note, faint earthy hops, medium bodied, decent beer. jrob21 (3663) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - FEB 24, 2016
Single from total wine. Decent sweetness. Lots of chocolate. Good toasty malt stout base beer. Pleasantly surprised. Mep3222 (1544) - East Greenbush, New York, USA - JAN 25, 2016
Has a nice authentic chocolate aroma and flavor. Like a bit of milk chocolate was melted in the glass. But ultimately the palate is light and it is an easy drinking stout. Nice flavors and aromas and nice overall stout but feels like it should have more body for the flavors. Like an imperial stout aroma with a Guinness body. If that makes sense. But ok for sure.

12 oz bottle shared with ebone1988 from Dumpster Box No. 1. This one says Enjoy By 02/15/2015. Whoopsies. The pour is a thinner light black with a decently light khaki colored cap of head and a little bit of lace. The aroma is nice and chocolatey. There is a nice dusty cocoa powder with a light milkiness. It's different. I like it though. Lots of chocolate milk. The flavor is different. There is a lot of bitter dark chocolate and a little bit of lactose here. It's light and not really complex, but it's decently well done. The mouth feel is light. There isn't a good carbonation to back it up. The aftertaste is different. It's decently dark chocolatey, but it's got an off flavor there that could very well be due to age. It's not bad, but I'd like one of these babies fresh.

Bottle shared with koleminer20, out of Dumpster Day box #1. Enjoy by February 15, 2015. Whoops. Aroma is nice dark chocolate, bread, roasted malt, cocoa, very nice. Appearance is black, light brown head, poured thin. Taste is chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, something slightly off that I’ll attribute to age. Mouthfeel is medium body and carbonation, a great roasty aftertaste lingers, pretty nice. Overall, I think this fresh would be very good.

Aroma: chocolate, caramel, something good.
Appearance: dark brown, black.
Taste: first taste is vanilla...strange but good, second taste was lemon/citrus...stranger but gooder, chocolate, coffee finish.
Overall: I like this beer. Can’t put this into words but this beer reminds me of places I’ve been. Thanks @harpoonbrewery! Gachupines (1252) - USA - APR 14, 2015
Black with a thin tan head. Aroma is rich chocolate. Flavor is very chocolate with a somewhat thin body. Big flavor though.

Dark brown/black, opaque, tan head. Aroma of biscuity/nutty malt with lots of chocolate, light roast. Flavor: deep chocolate, a slight roasty edge, hints of caraway and licorice, dark bread crusts. rdixon77 (2763) - Georgia, USA - APR 2, 2015
Old rating. Chocolate through and through. Bitter more than sweet which I am okay with. Not the best chocobeer, but it works in a pinch. TBone (17442) - Pori, FINLAND - MAR 17, 2015
Bottle 355ml (from Puerto Rico)
Dark, almost opaque color, small steady beige head. Aroma has strong chocolate and mud cake. Medium-bodied. Dark chocolaty flavor too, mudcake, toasted maltyness. I am not a big fan of these "chocolate beers which taste only chocolate" but well-brewed. Sweet stout with lots of sweetness and low bitterness.
