Draft sample at Keystone from notes. Labeled "Ginger Dunkelweiss".  Pours a dark brown/reddish color with a small beige head. Medium body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Kind of soft. More dry finish. A good light bit of chewiness to the texture. Light hint of chocolate. Nice ginger character... I dunno, it seems kind of ginger bready maybe. Not really though. Moderate sweet, light bitter. Lightly spicy. Solid, interesting easy to sip Dunkleweiss. Tastes more like sushi ginger than gingerbread for sure

This beer has an interesting taste. Not too over-powering with the ginger........not a bad UFO option for the holidays.

On tap at the Vermont brewery: Pours amber with a thin tan head. Aroma of spices, molasses, ginger, and sugar. Taste is mild gingerbread, spices, and cereal malts. Medium body, medium carbonation. Too sweet, it’s ok.

Draft at the Sunset Grill and Tap in Alston, MA. Poured an orange amber with a thin white head. Well it smelled like cookie dough, gingerbread, spices, and hay field. The taste was similar with medium light body, spices, and obviously ginger bread. Finish is spices and bread. Moderate carbonation. Overall interesting, but not my favorite to drink on a regular basis.

Aromas of ginger spice and toast. Ruby-brown with a moderately lasting off-white head. Dry, floral, a lot of ginger, balance is a little ginger-forward. Light-medium bodied, refreshing mouthfeel.

Tulip on tap at Keystone in Hyde Park. Labeled "Ginger Dunkelweiss". Very dark brown / slightly red color. Thin khaki head. Doesn’t leave much lace. Medium body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Kind of soft. More dry finish. A good light bit of chewiness to the texture. Light hint of chocolate. Nice ginger character... I dunno, it seems kind of ginger bready maybe. Not really though. Moderate sweet, light bitter. Lightly spicy. Solid, interesting easy to sip dunkelweiss. I like experiencing these unique things.... Tastes more like sushi ginger than gingerbread for sure... Mislabel? .... OK so after some reading on the Ratebeer description that the gingerbread version was brewed exclusively for Whole Foods, I’m convinced that this is a different thing and a different entry. Bartender at Keystone was very cool. He ran down to the keg cooler to check the keg collar for me. ..... OK, sweet, so the manager just informed me that this was a surplus keg intended for Whole Foods, but they turned it down for whatever reason and it ended up here at Keystone. It’s got to be the gingerbread version then. Mystery solved. Glad I investigated this.

Drake (13647) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 1, 2014
Draft at Whole Foods Charlottesville. Pours a clear brown color with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of caramel, raisin, toasted wheat, ginger, cinnamon. The taste is caramel, raisin, toasted wheat, graham cracker, ginger and other spices in the finish. Medium bodied. Everyone I’ve heard talk about this says it sucks, but I found it to be pretty solid.
