2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Odd greenish-red color (oak) with a thin head. Aroma is cranberry and spice. The cranberry taste is very light, a little more evident in the finish.
Rather disappointing. It’s not horrible but my least favorite Harpoon to date.
Amber pour. Slightly carbonated; nice mouth feel. A little tart with hints of cranberry and bread. Overall, a nice different beer for fall. Great for Thanksgiving. GreatDane1632 (1174) - North Dakota, USA - AUG 3, 2015
Rated based on notes taken 15 Sept 2012 -- Interesting. (those notes usually mean it wasn’t great) Not a great bit of cranberry, just a hint. So why call it a cranberry brew? drowland (9184) - Georgia, USA - MAY 1, 2015
5/1/15. 12oz bottle from Bird Dog. Happy International Tuba Day! Clear amber pour, maybe some pink? Very small short lived head. Faint fruity aroma, otherwise malty and plain. I wouldn’t guess cranberry. Cranberry more present in flavor, not overwhelming, lightly bitter, sweet, and tart, bready, caramel. Could be worse. hopdog (13191) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 21, 2015
12oz bottle. Poured an amber color with a smaller sized head. Lighter cranberry with some caramel and some bread. pumpmaster (1446) - Pembroke Pines, Florida, USA - MAR 30, 2015

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear dark amber color, light beige head cover, light bands of lace. Aroma of malt and light berry. Taste is butter rum and malt, joined on the swallow by slightly bitter cranberry and light spice. Malt shows up again in a lingering finish. A simple brew, easy to drink. Savannah, Ga. - Whole Foods - 12 oz bottle. Medium copper pour, medium thick off- white head. Muddled aroma, slight cranberry essence, hint of topsoil. Dates, raisins, fruit cake a touch of topsoil. Thick enough mouthfeel. Not blowing me away. nearbeer (5662) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - NOV 28, 2014
12 oz. bb 02/15/15. Pour is a nice looking copper-chestnut with a lasting disc of foam. Aroma is dark toffee, toasted nut and apple baked in brown sugar. Trying really hard, I find there’s an occasional note of metallic fruit that I would chalk up to cranberry, but otherwise never would have thought of the fruit that’s identified on the label. The taste shows some apple with brown sugar, shellac and bitterish nut. A bit later mildly tart fruit notes appear, but again would not have identified the source without the prodding. Medium body has a nice balance and a light astringency from the tart fruit. For me most every Harpoon brew is dominated by a stale apple/fruity English-style yeast flavor. This one is kind of like a roasty Oktoberfest with an English Ale-cranberry twist and is an OK drinker for a fruit beer. BrewBoxer (2667) - New York, New York, USA - OCT 28, 2014
Bottle . Pours a dark brown color rather then a ruby red and pink. Very fruity and beer like with a tart aftertaste . Good for the point but not my favorite Darkmagus82 (2303) - - OCT 2, 2014

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep amber color with a hint of red seen shining through the clear body. Upon pouring there is a small fizzy white head that fades almost instantly to leave just a hint of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell –The aroma is heaviest of a sweet caramel as well as some hints of toasted grain. Rounding out the aroma is the tart cranberry smell that one might expect, along with some lighter hints of a floral and grassy nature
Taste -The taste begins with a sweeter and toasted bready flavor. The sweet upfront is a mix of sugar sweetened cranberry as well as a bit of caramel. As the taste advances it remains relatively on the sweeter side, but also takes on some tart tastes as well as a light grassy taste. As the taste moves on to the end, the cranberry gets rather potent producing a somewhat chalky and tart cranberry flavor to be produced, which knocks down the sweetness and the roast a bit. With a light earthy flavor coming to the tongue at the very end, the combination of flavors leaves a slightly chalky, tart, but lightly sweetened cranberry and toasted malt flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is on the average side with a carbonation level that is rather average as well. More carbonation and a thinner body may have been slightly more refreshing in light of the cranberry flavors of the brew, but all in all, the feel was still alright.
Overall – Not bad, but really not that great either. The cranberry and grain tastes are good, but It has a sort of sweet yet tart and chalky taste that really don’t meld well together. Worth a try, but nothing more.
