Bottled. A clear golden color with a fluffy head that diminishes quickly. Nice floral hop aroma. The flavor starts off almost sour, but the hop finish is what makes this beer. A good IPA.

IPAs in general are just great beers. This one is a little lighter in color and taste than some others, but still a good beer.

Briliant plae amber with a fizzy white head that tries mightly to cling to the glass but just does not quite make it. I know you will be shicked, but it smells like hops, grapefruit, flowers, etc... Flavor is a bit of a letdown, the malt plays a bigger role then in other IPAs, the hops are still there but just not in the proportions that my palate is used to. Bitterress lingers but is not to powerful. Body is medium. Decent but forgettable. There are just too many IPAs out there that end up tasting just like this.

Nice sweet grass hop aroma. It looks really light in the glass - I'd like it more if it appeared a bit darker. Nice and dry, with some lemon and grapefruit. It could use a bit more malt.

Bottled, Cherbourg, Massachusetts. Golden amber with a large, white, bold, fluffy head. Fruity and hoppy aroma, maximum strength. Floral and fruity. Good bitter, long aftertaste. Hoppy, hoppy, hoppy.

Bottle. Got this one from JZ at the 2003 Beer exchange. I love IPA's and this is not a great one by any means. Poured a small 1/4" head which immediately abandoned me. Not much aroma (strike 1) and a very light copper color. Not much sweetness or citrus in the first taste but it was quite bitter. Not a lot of body and it was without the wonderful changes in bitterness and sweetness that good IPA's have (strike 2). Lacing was not striking and as the beer warmed it remained unremarkable (strike 3). Not terrible, but not a top shelf India Pale Ale.

IMO, this beer stradles the line between a pale ale and an IPA. A large open head quickly forms on this oh-so-slightly hazy golden beer. The aroma, while citrusy, is a bit tame for an IPA. Smooth, slightly bitter flavor just needs a little more body to carry it. Not a bad beer, but a real hop-head IPA lover might want to try something else.

Poured a golden color with a rocky white head. Citrus hop aroma, I liked it! Rather weak mouthfeel, but the hops and malt were balanced pretty nicely. This was also very refreshing, and i'd like to retry during the summer, it was a nice break from all the big beers i've had lately.

Quarter-inch white head. Light copper. Aromas of citrus and floral blend. Very well hopped, classic IPA taste. Grapefuite/ citrus bite. Enjoyable.

(Packaged on 11/25/2003) This is what I remember the very first few IPAs tasting like when I first tried the style. The beer has a fresh hoppy nose that seems to be a good balance of US and UK hops. The color of the beer is a very light copper or a very deep gold. The palate is medium in body with a touch of fruitiness surrounded by malt and hops. The finish is dry and bitter. I find this to be fairly good example of a traditional IPA.
