12oz. Bottle: Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, slight burnt malts, slight coffee, and slight dark ripe fruit. Poured very dark brown in color with a medium-sized, dense, tan head that lasted throughout. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Very good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla, slight peanut butter, and some Hershey*s Syrup. Medium body. Creamy, then dry texture. Average carbonation. Chocolate, vanilla, and light roasted malt finish is dry. 9.5%ABV is undetectable. PilsnerPeter (3049) - Flushing, New York, USA - DEC 26, 2008
Bottle: Pours dark brown with ruby highlights and a wispy tan head. Smells sweet and milky with a touch of purple grape candy, chooclate and lactose. Slick and mildly carbonated. Tastes of milk sugar, caramelized brown sugar, mild saltiness and nutty. Some alcohol comes through as well with residual saltiness at the back. Like most Harpoon, not bad, but not good. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - DEC 23, 2008
On tap at Coles Buffalo NY. Nice offering from Harpoon. Pours a deep dark black. Roasted aromas. Little to no head on the pour. First sip was real boozy immediately then the flavors. Roasty, boozy, some chocolate. Didnt really sense the baltic porter like in others Ive drank. Seems like a good Impy Porter to me RCL (2032) - Waltham, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 22, 2008
Deep, rich roasted aroma. Baking spices and rotting wood. Flavor has some wet earth, cacao, and tiny hints of charcoal. Very nice. hopdog (13191) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 21, 2008
12oz bottle. Poured a darker brown color with red edges and a larger sized off white head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, some earthiness, and just a trace of dark fruits. Tastes of dark fruits -definitely more than the aromas-, roast, chocolate, and a lighter earthiness. Alcohol content well hidden. Lacing left on the glass.

12 ounce bottle from the downstairs neighbor. Very cool bottle and name. Deep blackish color with a long lasting caramel smelling head. Roast malt masks the alcohol very well. The palate is pretty thing but delicious. Would buy again Cletus (6368) - Connecticut, USA - DEC 17, 2008
Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells of chocolate, raisins. Tastes spicy and of chocolatey malt with some mild roastiness on the finish. Mouthfeel is thin with a masked alcoholic finish. thornecb (6147) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 15, 2008
Pours black into a shaker. Mocha head with excellent retention leaves sheet lacing as it recedes to coat surface. Dark chocolate-covered pit fruit aromas. Smooth with dark caramel-covered chocolate dipped, cherries that have been soaked in alcohol. Very tasty. rocbyter (2184) - Waterbury, Connecticut, USA - DEC 13, 2008
Moderate malt aroma. Might be stronger if the beer was warmer. Dark dark brown color with a small white head. Sweet hesitating beginning with a bitter chocolate finish. Alcohol is predominant in the end and this beer was cold. blipp (9899) - La Mesa, California, USA - DEC 11, 2008
Bottle. Pours dark ruby, almost black with a fizzy beige head. Roasted malt aroma, with dark chocolate. The flavor has roasted malt, burnt wood, and vinous fruits. A little bit a boozy burn, but still very drinkable.
