12 oz bottle from Triangle Wine for 3 bucks. Dated 2012. Pours black with a small brown head. Aroma is fruit, sweet chocolate, some coffee. Taste is fruit and chocolate up front as well with a lasting chocolate flavor on the back end. Some coffee in there as well. Texture is slightly thick, not quite on par with some of my favorites though. Easy to drink, not much alcohol burn to it. Overall a decent imperial stout. puboflyons (3404) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - NOV 27, 2015
From the 650 ml. bottle. The pour is dark brown to black. Good sweet malt character on the nose. Some cellar mustiness. The aroma is also sweet and caramel like. The body is medium. The taste is also sweet with a low alcohol bite. That’s a good thing.Frax (60) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - APR 6, 2016

From the 650 ml. bottle dated 2014. The pour is deep dark jet black with a modest tan head on top. I pick up more of a milk chocolate character before all else but no alcohol considering the 10% ABV. The body is around medium. The taste has a kind of milk chocolate flavor with dark roasted malts and a slightly dry finish.
Bottle from Shaw’s, poured into a pint glass, pitch black with a thin tan head, thick lacing. Smoked meat aroma, hot chocolate notes with a creamy mouthfeel and mildly bitter coffee finish. More pronounced as it warms to room temperature. Jow (3899) - New York, USA - NOV 23, 2016
Tap at Draught 55. Very dark pour smaller beige head. Nose is roasted malt and espresso. Taste of coffee beans, some mocha, earth, grass, very little alcohol heat. Smooth palate. Really hides abv dangerous stuff. hivemind (914) - New York, New York, USA - DEC 5, 2012
Tap @ Pony w James, Andy, Feng. Black pour, cocoa powder head that retreats to the edge of the glass quickly. Light toasty coca, coffee and dairy on the nose with even some hops - deserving of a 9 in aroma. Palate is milky, notes of light coffee or chocolate powder, sweet and dark. I would describe it as rich and sweet yet medium bodied and a roasty, underwhelming aftertaste.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha conglomerate head froths and recedes leaving spider lacing. Dark chocolate and pit fruit aromas. Thin with smoky chocolate upfront turning to caramel and pit fruit before the lasting hot espresso finish. durhambeer (2500) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - DEC 29, 2012
Bottle from Sam’s Quik Shop. Pours black with a thin tan head. Nose of roast, chocolate, molasses and some fruit, but the fruit fullness really comes out on the taste, with notes of raisin, prune, and fig. Some creamy action in there as well. Sweet, with a hint of light tartness. Tastes great. Beerman6686 (6607) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 15, 2013
This poured a darker brown color with a lighter tan head. Aroma was of licorice, smoke, and dark burnt chocolate. Flavor was much the same, nicely smokey and a bit ashey, but not too offensive. Alcohol is hidden well too. Nice offering by Harpoon. AirForceHops (7144) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 29, 2013
12 oz. bottle that I purchased @ Nikki’s Liquors, Providence, R.I. for $2.99. Vintage is 2012. Quickly dissipating tan head that died to nothing. Aroma is roasted malts, dark fruit and light vanilla. Tastes of decent amounts of roasted chocolate malts producing notes of coffee and raisins. Secondary flavors of light smokiness or burnt wood and light vanilla. Texture is on the oily side with a slick texture. ABV is masked after it’s cellared a bit like this bottle. For the price I paid for a bottle or what you will find for a 4 pack; it really is worth a try. Not going to blow your mind with flavor for the style, yet it still is a well-made imperial stout. 12oz bottle - pours black with little brown head and thin lacing. Nose is dark fruit. Flavor adds faint coffee and indistinct malts. I’m betting this is too cold as is. BRB... as it warms flavor borders on licorice and resin. Somewhat sweet and bitter on the finish. Not what I expected but not necessarily a bad thing. Quite complex and an interesting take on the style.
