Deep amber color, small beige head. Ryeish aroma. Medium-bodied. Rye, caramel, lots of alcohol in flavor. Aftertaste has caramel, burning alcohol and licorice.
Bottle from Paula. Pours copper with a slight beige head. Rich malt aroma. Rye? Full bodied. Flavor is very rye. It’s mildly non-dry, but there’s enough hop and roast malt/rye to render it bitter. Seems nicely balanced, and it’s very tasty. Ratman197 (14686) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAR 1, 2012
Bottle poured a clear orange amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of rye, raisin, light carmel and light earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of rye, earthiness, toffee and light raisin with a smooth moderatly bitter lingering rye finish.

A cognac amber with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, a murky sweet malt with light boiled veggies, a bit of spices, weird. In mouth, a smooth chalky sweet malt, treacle, with grassy hops, light cheesy notes, not bad. On tap at brewpub, Oct. 10 2011.

Citrus hops, mild bitterness, bready and grain malty aroma.
Alcohol big time, rye, caramel, grain and dark bitter citrusy hops in flavour.
Well... it’s heavy... and boozy.
Draft... Clear copper ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. The nose is an intermingling of caramel malt, earthy hops and spicy, grainy rye. Full-bodied with a sticky mouthfeel and prickly carbonation. The flavor is a melange of caramel, toffee and medium bitter hops with mild ethanol burn and an underpinning of crisp rye spiciness and graininess. Finishes spicy dry and warming. Finishes spicy, dry and warming. If you dig rye, this is quite nice.
