2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Quite dark beer, but lets some light through which is dark red. Smell is quite malty. Taste is quite round, and easy. There is some carbonation, but not too much to distract. It seems to be a bit sour beer, and I end up thinking earth aromas; mud and dirt. Perhaps there are come cooked vegetables as well, which in my case does not make much difference I’m not into this one. That said I must acknowledge this is still OK beer, and someone might find this good. Thanks to Paul D. for bringing this all the way US for me as farewell present.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep chocolate brown beer with a thin light beige head. Nose of semi-sweet cocoa, nuts, and vanilla, but it’s all a bit faint. Flavor is more robust with sweet candied nuts, mocha, and bittersweet chocolate followed by a medium bitterness. Crisply carbonated, this is a flavorful beer that is still somewhat light.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
undated 12 oz bottle served in pint glass (from April 2011 notes).
a very dark mahogany, but clear and not opaque. An somewhat aggressive pour provided only about 1 finger of short-lived head.
Sweet floral aroma, with a little less ’regular’ toasted malt dominance than expected. Plenty of sweet malt with a trace of hops. Not quite "rich" or complex. Hops and toasted malt are more balanced in the aftertaste.
M - medium/full body with enough carbonation to tingle the tongue.
A Munich-style session beer, this beer brought back memories of drinking this style beer in a Munich biergarten.
