22-ounce bottle pours mostly clear yellow with copious carbonation rising up the glass, leaving a small white head and lacing. Aroma: floral, grainy, grass. Flavor: caramel-toffee sweetness, faint citrus, apricots, a little hopiness, perhaps porridge. Mouthfeel is thin, yet slightly creamy (presumably from oatmeal). I like the unusual style here. I think this is the first beer with oatmeal that wasn’t a stout or porter.

Bottle. Pours hazy pale yellow with large foamy whitish head, floral hops aroma, low carbonation, lightly citrusy sweetish oatmeal taste, smooth body, abrupt finish with citrusy aftertaste. Interesting brew, quite smooth not really bitterish as pale ales.

From the 650 ml. bottle with a Best By date of 12/15/17. I had the one they did with Deschutes last year. This pours an olive-yellow tone with a quick lasting fizzy white head. A tad cloudy. The aroma emits esters of tropical fruit, melon, herbs, and floral hops with a more muted white bread note. But I don’t get oatmeal. The body is medium but a little acidic. The taste emphasizes the fruit, melon, and herbal characters with the same sweet breadiness but again the oatmeal seems non-existent. Still, an easy drinking beer all around.

Bottle from Bert’s Slightly hazy light golden color with a decent sized long lasting white head. Light bready caramel toasty maltiness with plenty of earthy citrus and pine hop aroma and flavor to counter. Pretty tasty pale ale, and one of the best Harpoon beers I’ve had for a while!
